i love how the official Guns N' Roses site still talks about the "tentative release date of march 6th" on its main page... i wonder if/when that will change...

just an observation.

i'd normally be pissed off but theres a bunch of albums coming out from great bands this year so i'll be pre-occupied.... i still hope it comes out around the middle of the year though.

Since this is Dead Horse,

I am not frustrated about how many times the album has been pushed back. I was not a fan of his voice quality in 2002, I thought those shows and that tour were terrible. I nearly cried when I saw the VMA performance. In a way, I'm glad it's taken this long, he clearly was not ready for the long haul until last year.

However, I am frustrated that he blew such a great opportunity in 2006.

In late 2006, everyone was paying attention in the media, he had no competition as far as other big rock acts putting out product, he was on a pretty successful tour, had plenty of good reviews, people were excited about getting the record...and he fuckin' blew it. I don't care who's fault it technically was, he BLEW IT...big time.

Now, in 2007, he gets to compete with the following artists who are releasing albums and/or touring this year:

The Police, Van Halen, Smashing Pumpkins, Nine Inch Nails, Metallica, Linkin Park and um...yeah...Velvet Revolver.

Again, he fuckin' BLEW IT.

There, I vented my frustration and beat a dead horse.

Completely agree, late 2006 was definitely the right time. The momentum and interest were definitely there. I'll always be bummed by that one.

I am officially annoyed at this point. I know the release date was tentative, but I will be even more annoyed if the 6th is used as yet another date to give another delayed release date.

However, it seems that we have less than three weeks before March 6, 2007 rolls around and we haven't even seen any kind of promotion for this album, let alone an album cover. Now, I am not saying the album isn't coming... all I am saying is that if it were coming on the 6th as the statement says then shouldn't we be hearing a single from the album, hearing about its upcoming release on the radio, seeing something about it on TV, or seeing posters and the like in stores? I believe, and this is my personal opinion but I am pegging the release date for August 21, 2007. What better timing than to release Chinese Democracy than on the 20th anniversary of Appetite For Destruction's release? If we don't see the album on March 6, 2007 than that will be the date I am looking forward to.

March 6. there is 0 chance of a release at this point. No single no video. I consider myself a huge ambassador of a Axl and Guns to friends and colleagues, and I continue to support the band and pass? on info to other people. Each time a release date comes and goes the less believable it becomes. I really felt the band had a huge wave of momentum after this past summer/fall tour, with the lack of activity that momentum is pretty much gone. So another date has pretty much come and gone and again no new music.
Is there anyone here who still thinks March 6th is possible, and once the new date is announced what reason will there be to believe it?
