Ha, nothing ever happens around here. What a joke!
Hey Axl, pull your head out of your ass!
That's not gonna get you very far in these parts.

Yeah I know, while I still usually listen to both UYI's and AFD religously (on a daily basis at times) the anticipation for Chinese Democracy comes and goes with the wind. But if and when CD finally does come, I'll be right back aboard the Gn'R hypewagon. The only thing that would be concerning me is how many people will do the same, and how many will not buy into it the next time around. But hey I guess that will be their loss, right...

I hope it comes out soon and I hope it is groundbreaking and great.
AFD was brilliant and changed my life (literally!) when I heard it in 1988. Lies was a continuation, and that was good too.
I was a little disappointed with the Illusion LPs. I found them too bloated, too pretentious and not groundbreaking like AFD. They were, however, still very good and spawned some excellent tracks.
I worry that CD will be worse than the Illusion albums, but I hope it will be more like AFD. I have been very unimpressed with the new tracks that have come out, and I don't find myself jumping with excitement at all when the new band plays the old songs.
I hope that the album is released, and that it is released soon. At times I wonder whether it will ever come out, whether Axl will just get tired of the hype and hopes and chuck it all in.

i don't think it's the mixing thats holding up the album... It's got to be business or legal shit thats holding this thing up. Or both... or maybe axls troubled mind or whatever, i don't know, BUT:
I think that there might be some questions whether to release it the classic way or to do more of an online thing like radiohead just did. What should this package called Chinese Democracy contain?
Another thing might be that axl isn't sure he's got the right deal when it comes to releasing the disc. He might even want to break loose from his record company like madonna just did and maybe be a little more trent reznorish and release the fuckin' thing himself. I am not saying that axl wants to be like madonna or reznor or radiohead, but i think it's really fuckin' important for him that this thing drops right, whatever way that might be. Personally i would love for this album to come out the classic way and maybe even close the compact disc era once and for all.
I can see why people are getting frustrated and pissed over this holdup, but just try to imagine letting go of something you've been working on for more than a decade. I mean no wonder axl wants this kick ass and not just flop just so that it can be forgotten about.
I don't see why everyone is so pissed and why people are acting like fucking apes. Don't you want axl to get it right? Or at least the way he wants it to be?
There's alot at stake here.

I've now started to think that this album will NEVER come out.
What a total joke Gn'R have become, they can't even be bothered to keep the fans informed about what's going on.
I'm sure some will say that I'm being negative, but man, Gn'R don't stand a chance up against bands like NIN and Radiohead when it comes to promotion. Even if it is released, I'm sure it will be handled so badly, with such lack of care or attention to detail, the who thing will fade, and this time, probably forever.
It feels kinda weird having gone to the recent shows to support the band, and then you get nothing back...I also find it odd how a musician such as Axl is so massively unproductive. If you take a band like Sonic Youth, who have produced masses of groundbreaking music which constantly evolves, you can really see that they care about music, and are passionate about being in a band. Axl seems to only care about hanging around with complete fools (Sebastian Bach et al) and wannabe pornstars. He's turned into somekind of pointless showman, who can be compared to an idiot like Robbie Williams.
Anyway, whatever.

honestly jarmo, I dont want to be at a party with people who lack emotions. So if people who are "whining" are the people you are referring to then so be it. To follow up wiith what Steve said...just because someone whines or is pissed about the delays doesnt make them less of a fan. You try to come off like this stuff doesnt bother you. Maybe it doesnt. But you also have to realize that we arent in the same boat as you. Most people here arent rubbing elbows with the band and its employees. So you know and or have heard a lot more tahn the avg person here. Big difference

and after 16 years of no new material, except for a few leaks, and a few tours playing basically a AFD tribute tour, can you say what there is to be positive about?? reconciling w/ izzy? Ok, it's not like he's playing on the album or in the band....anything else, more versions of the same songs that have been floating on the net for a couple of eas now? anything else? I think that about covers it

Are you ever satisfied? With anything?
Probably a stupid question, since you'll probably stir shit up when they choose to release the record too.
Meh, the hell with it...

As time goes on, I think the odds of Chinese Democracy ever hitting the masses diminishes ever so slowly. Something is amiss, whether it be legal battles, the tours which seem to be conducted for no reason other than to reimburse the record company for all it has poured into this non-existent recording....or maybe, just maybe, the allure of a full-fledged reunion of the original band is too lucrative for Mr. Axl Rose to pass up, and he's willing to shelve 10+ years of work to pursue it. In any event, most of the world looks at the new GN'R as a cover band playing the old GN'R. And who can blame them? There's nothing the new lineup has done to establish it's own identity, aside from Axl's presence and a few new songs played at the live shows. Even the official website is woefully ordinary, and there's WEEKS that go by without a single update.
I hope one day, the CD will come, and we will be able to add a fantastic new chapter to the book of Guns N' Roses. Until then, it seems we will continue to speculate on what is really happening behind the scenes, and why everything surrounding this band is so shrouded in mystery.

I had a dream last night that I was listening to the radio and they played a montage of GNR, both studio and live songs. Then the announcer came on and said that Chinese Democracy would be released on November 16th, and for some reason it was an advertisement for Tower Records. So if my dream comes true we should expect CD by 11/16/2010, since that's the next time Nov. 16th falls on a Tuesday. So strap yourselves in.

Facts?
You're basically saying that everything is crap and that it's 2002 all over again.
I just need to know when you will be happy with the situation, so please answer my question.
