What could take an album 5 years? I don't know? I'm sure I'll get thrashed for even posting this but I don't care really at all right now.

You people hold onto this crap, like I did once. I'm sick of this! Will the GH record spark anything or what? I mean it is dumber then hell not to hear from anyone... does Axl even exist? I think maybe Axl died and they're busy trying to clone him and bring him back to life, so they can continue making money off of the poor guy's life.

Easy. One, Axl's a perfectionist. Two, Axl wanted to find the real Guns N'Roses, that's why he's gone through so many musicians, this band has only been final for 2 years. Three, GNR is held to a high standard, and Axl doesn't want to disappoint.

Why? Because they're not the GNR we used to know. Axl, Slash, Duff, Izzy/Gilby and Steven/Matt would have done 2 albums for these 10 (ok 5) years. And yes, maybe Axl is a perfectionist and realizes that it's not THE Band that has to be.

I didnt know Chinese Democracy was going to be three albums.  That is sweet.  I do agree that i like that he is making a perfect album, but I dont wasn to wait another ten years after Chinese Democracy is released to hear from GNR again.  I makes me kinda sad that one of rock greatest bands of all time new CD is a running joke now to the media and outside world.  More power to ya Axl and please make Chinese Democracy worth the wait.

Im sorry i have agreeed with most of what has been said on this thread, but what the fuck are you talking about.  You want to know who the real Guns N' Fuckin' Roses are?  Its W. Axl Rose, Slash, Izzy Stradlin', Duff Mckagn, and Steven Adler.  What the fuck do you mean when u say the real Guns N' Roses?!   The real GNR is no more.  We can only have runner ups now.  The closest thing to the Real GNR right now is Velvet Revolver.  Damn, why would you even say that!

First of all, to everyone who is waiting and optimistic about CD, thank you, I'm glad to see I'm not the only one.

To a certain group of others (you know who you are): you dissapoint me. Its easy to be a fan when your band is riding the wave of fame, its hard to to be one when the world has forgotten about them. Unfortuantely, the majority of people who once listened to GnR and were at the front rows of their shows belong to this category. You aren't serious fans: you are only in it for the ride, and when it's over, you are conveniently distance yourself from it, pointing fingers at what you once claimed to be the biggest fan of. Stop being selfish, this music does not belong to you - not that you would have any appreciation for it anyway.

The closest thing we have to real gnr is VR?  Maybe that would be true if their frontman wasn't a second rate alternative/grunge singer. Oh I see what you mean...the bass, guitar and drums is what gives a band its true characteristic...or is it because they all wear leather? I used to say the same thing until I realized that Axl Rose = 90% of gnr.
