Kinda funny how in his book he says he had absolutely no interest in gangster rap.

NetAid from 1999? I remember that event, don't remember what it was for though....
Slash playing with Puff Daddy, and it's a song Tommy helped write.
Wonder if he knew that....

Where in the book does he say that?

"I was working on a band that had nothing to do with the grunge sound or whatever you want to call what it was that happened in the mid-nineties: it was a very cool bu tshort-lived moment. And it had been replaced by rap-rock limp crap and boy bands... and Interscope was more or less call gangsta rap. I had no interest in any of that, so i was completely unaware abou tthe shifts within the business"

PUff isnt really gangsta rap though
Slash just said he wasnt interested. Didnt say he hated it or refused to have anything to do with anyone.
This is what we call, Reading too much into something out of hatred and wanting to find something to gripe about.

I don't hate him, I quite like the song and think it sounds pretty cool.
I just think it's funny.

I don't care how funny it is, what's even funnier is that someone considers Puff Daddy a gangster rapper.
Tommy helped write this song? Stinson? how come?

Agreed... I mean... if the rappers keep their mouths shut, and we just listen to maybe the drum/slash, it's all good...
I'm sure he just doesn't want to make an album or anything of the sort with a "gangsta" rapper or something of the sort...
I'm sure playing with a rapper is all good...
I'm not really sure if Puff Daddy is a gangster rapper though... he does get on my nerves a little bit, but that's because he doesn't use actual instruments at concerts... (not that I've seen anyways...)

Tommy is pretty well respected in the music industry. Axl is lucky to have someone like Tommy.

It's "gangsta rap" people, not "gangster rap," of which Diddy (yeah, that's right) is neither

Look at the eyes, and grins. It looks like the photographer caught them coming back in after they burnt a blunt.

The reason there's never any Duff vs Tommy threads is because
TOMMY STINSON IS A LEGEND
in the music industry!!!

who is talkin about a Duff?? do you want to start a thread Duff vs. Tommy? 'cause I DON'T. Tommy is a legend in what music industry? ganster rappers?Who cares!??
I have NOTHING against him at all, I think he is a pretty good bass player and I give him the credit for sticking around with Axl & Co.that's it! But names like: John Paul Jones, Geezer Buttler, Steve Harris, Cliff Burton, John Deacon ARE LEGENDS.

I dunno, though... Maybe some people have different opinions on who they think is a legend?
