Ive read about seven chapters already...its a good read so far....i think all gnr fans should pick it up. A lot of funny stories.. What a life Slash and the band lived...simply amazing

I thought Jarmo was going to quote something relevant but Slash saying he didn't go to see Axl isn't exactly a lie ... since he didn't meet up with Axl.? However ... fine, if you wanna use this irrelevant quote.? The fact that it has nothing to do with the music or the band etc ...? ?But sure.? As I said ... I don't think Slash is a God ... and not everyone is perfect.? But if we have to admit Slash lied ... can everyone finally admit that Axl has been lying about all the shit he's been pulled up on in the past?

I finished reading it last night. I thoroughly enjoyed it, especially the early years of both Slash and GNR. The book does become a bit sad when GNR starts to fall apart, though.

I couldn't help but react to this "Dave Kirschner" fellow who pops up in Velvet Revolver. Who the hell is he?

It could have been the co-author. Or not...Slash is no product of higher education, if you know what I mean. Wizard at guitar, yes, but no scholar of grammar and phonology.

Yeah, it probably was the co-author, but of all the little, common-sense things to do, checking the spelling of someone's name seems so obvious to me.

One thing that really upsets me is that Slash, being a multi-milionaire, could retrive the funds of the book to some charity cause you know what I mean? It really sucks cos he had so much money already... it?s not as he is in need.

I've read about 110 pages of the book so far without stopping, and it's pretty amazing - I must say.

I can't wait until I reach the Use Your Illusion-era.

finished it last night. excellent read. A lot of great stories. SLash and this band truly lived the life. There are so many crazy moments ...especially in the early yrs. I really enjoyed reading about the early yrs. SOme great stories.

Seems like the band beg. of the end was when they went to Chicago to record the Illusions. His main theme about Axl...particularly towards the end was that he and the rest of the guys made a mistake by giving in to Axl pretty much all of the time. He also said that the people such as Doug Goldstein really hurt the band as well because they became Axls yes men.

I wish Slash went into a lil more detail about how he really felt from like 96-01 ish...He touched on it but just wish he wnet even more in depth. He said he went to Axls house when he was drunk and dropped a note off to Axls assistant...prob Beta. Although he didnt admit it in the book I def get the idea that Slash wants to go back. Hes happy with VR but you can just tell that hes not comfortable with the way the band ended.

After CD has been released and maybe another album or 2 after that, I too hope they all get back together. I hope they can all work things out and begin another chapte rof this crazy story. Read the book....particularly the early yrs ...and ill wager most will feel the same way

Overall it was a great read. I hope Axl does this one day. But with a lot more pages!!!!
