So did Axl write the

1,2,3,4,5,6 I give*not sure what he says there* away my time all my life is empty now i said its over................................ thats my fav part

Or did he just write

I know your feelings have changed

Peeling the layers of emotion away

you'd probably have to ask Axl or Sebastian that question.

The "counting" part previously existed.

I'd imagine Axl wrote:

That was my guess as well from the boots I'd heard.

I hate to say this

but I like the song "By Your Side"

better than every GNR boot not named "Madagascar"

and I like it better than every VR song.

Taking nothing away from GNR or VR, I love that song that damn much.

Its a good song,
but its not better then any new gnr song,
I mean its so god dam repetitive, I mean,
"so long my dear departed where did you go , I cant believe your coming the nights go on so slow"
Its pretty cheasy aswell,
Better/twat/chinese democracy are all 10x better then this,
I dont know how anyone could say this cheesy repetitive love song, is better then the epic twat or chinese democracy or catcher...

Its a good song although the last few seconds of the song, where the violins comin softely and you hear baz's vocals faintly,
seem like a cut-and paste job to me, it doesn't really tie in with the momentum of the song,

twat all the way! beer

Your opinion

My opinion I feel it and like it more than anything not Madagascar.  The guitar playing is better, Baz' vocals are just amazing, some of the best I've ever heard.

I think u guys have completely overrated TWAT and CD.

Wow...that's a far cry from what most other metal fans have been saying. I personally find it to be the best metal I've heard since Slave.

Really?!  Eugh.  Dude ... you got some low standards then.  It's a drudgy, boring album, with a very throwback 80's vocal style.  I really don't like it.

That said ... I still think technically, Sebastian is a VERY good singer.  I just think the overall feel of the album was really sub-standard.  He could have done better, since he's going on about it being a 7 year long process.

Too much screaming for me. I like songs like "By your side". It's unfortunate that he wants to scream even harder for the next album.

From a review at IGN.com

A hodge-podge of '80s heavy metal and radio-friendly hard rock, Angel Down kicks off with the face-peeling title track then rolls into the hooky "You Don't Understand," both showcasing Bach's sizeable range and acrobatics, plus his obvious affinity for Rob Halford. The next three tracks feature none other than Mr. Rose on dueling vocals. Stealing Bach's thunder, Rose imbues the duets with sizable grit, making them the most-rocking bits on the album. ok

Yeah I thought it was kind of dull too. I picked it up mostly for the Axl novelty, but even the songs with Axl ain't too great to me. Only song I even bothered to put on my ipod was the A-smith cover.

Read this the other day. I'm glad to see someone not jaded by the history of the album giving props to Axl and of course Baz for his album.

Slave To The Grind is a low standard for metal? Never heard that before.

I was mainly reffering to this album.

Sorry but it's crap.  A few good tunes.  Nothing great.  Slave to the Grind ain't bad.  Not exactly up there with the best ... but MUCH better than this.

the only thing i've heard baz say about a future album is that it'll take a long time before he does one, never heard he wanna scream more if he ever makes a record again Huh

He said it in an interview on XM Boneyard. He said he liked it and wanted to scream through the whole next album even harder.
