I think T.W.A.T is a pretty good song, but I think Madagascar is a future classic! It's kinda like a modern Kashmir
Madagascar definitely has the epic-Zeppelin vibe to it, but remove the 2 minutes at the movies and I think you can seriously discuss this song along those lines

It is pretty cool the way it ends. I always have started any CD with Better, It's just a good way to get things going
I know what you're saying and would not be disappointed in the slightest if they choose Better for the opening song.? I just get that "Axl's back" vibe from Chinese Democracy with the slow build-up into the scream.
Yeah, I can't really argue with that, my friend

Its simply a genius song and I cant wait to hear the final version. It kind of remind me of a Pink Floyd song with the long solos and stuff. Then again it also remind me of Breakdown, especially this chorus,
If there's something I can make of this,or anything at all, it'd be the devil hates a loser and you thought you had it all.
Fantastic song...

But Bucket's solo under those sound bites is flawless. You can't risk losing that.

It's a terrific solo, but it is completely phased out by the trip to the theatres. If the solo was left and the movies were either removed or just playing in the backround very lowly, then the song as we know it had the chance to be the Kasmir of this decade as someone mentioned earlier -

I love madagascar,
but as much as i love it in its current form,
I would of loved it so much better (10x more) if axl either wrote more lyrics to be replaced by the "spoken word' part,
Or like the poster above me said, Just have buckets solo go on and build up into excitement as the song progresses (kinda like twat)
In my opinon The spoken word with MLK etc kinda seems like a CUT - and - Paste job,
as it seems a bit sloppy and like any voice was just thrown in anywhere,
Whenever i listen to madagascar leak, i always just skip the spoken word caus ive heard it too many times, and its kinda lossed a fair bit of meaning ,
Its a shame really, because its going to be the same on chinese democracy, considering they havent changed the song for 7 years now... (unlike the other new songs ,eg blues etc)

TWAT is one of the most epic GNR songs ever. I wish they played it as a regular on the 06 tour.

a little off topic, but its reminds me of me and this girl
the lines "yeah there was a time, i didnt wana know at all, didnt wana know at all, and i dont wana know it now"
i was seeing this girl, who i wasnt intrested in, and was just using for sex (hence the line "there was a time i didnt wana know at all"), but she was like in love with me, and after a while, i started to have feelings for her, and we went out for over 18months, and then i just didbnt want to know again
everytime i hear that song, especially those lines, makes me think of that relationship, and i actually text her after i finnished her and said those lines at the top of my reply, and she just reply with "oh"

I cannot agree more. I was at the first Hammerstein show and was lucky enough to hear it performed live, I certainly hope it gets played more when more shows happen. I absolutely loved hearing it live.

it probably is/was a cut and past job at the time. i'm sure on the album it'll sound more together.

To me, it's an absolutely fantastic song in every sense of the word- brilliant, heart-felt lyrics, great gmelodies, fantastic guitar riffs, it's GOT IT ALL
If the finished version is a good as these leaks, then it could even top 'estranged' to become my all time favourite GN'R track!!!
