Has anyone else heard this? I think it's better than most of the VR stuff. The cover for the album is a riff on John Coltrane's Blue Train, which I think is really cool.

Example:

Weiland = http://www.linge.de/music/records/mehldau/covers/12_bar_blues.jpg
Coltrane = http://www.ngcsu.edu/cavalli/Blue-Train.jpg

Not a huge Weiland fan, but his elastic vocals and experimental styles really work well here. He was on heroin when he wrote the album, and the lyrics are superbly nonsensical because of this. The music video for "Barbarella" is fucked up.

This album grows on you... at first listen, what the hell is this? But then you start to appreciate the diverse styles. Just catchy songs like About Nothing, then great ballads like Son. He's talented and I hope he releases his 2nd solo album soon!

It's not bad.  I'm a huge STP fan, and of course VR is great too, but I think that this is my least favorite work of Weiland's.

If I said you had a beautiful body, would you take your pants off and dance around a little?
