Can Scott Weiland develop his own identity???

essentially an employee of Axl Rose.  He's loyal to his boss and will do/copy anything Axl tells him to do...., I really don't think he has any other choice.

It seems this guy imitates everyone....When STP started he was blatantly ripping off Eddie Vedder.....He sounded exactly like him.....Then around that same time he says in an interview how much he loves Faith No More and coincidently he started dressing exactly like Mike Patton, same exact hair style and goatee and everything....Then came the Jim Morrison imitations....Now he wants to be 1987 Axl with his leather pants and doing his serpentine.....Weiland is the worlds greatest imitator

Dumb thread.  Scott's a very good entertainer with his own identity.  This is a pretty old argument.

Scott hasd his own identity: it's a combination of being ridiculous and over the top. It all tastes like fake and studied. No emotion. And to be honest, it's better that it's fake, if it would have been real...

he's one of those fans of the old band who hasn't taken the time to actually to get some knowledge on the newer bandmembers because he's closed minded and doesn't care about them.

You guys (Axl fans) bring all of that stuff onto yourself. A great example is the topic of this thread. It is just to antagonize VR fans. that is all it is about. Then certain others chime in and add fuel to the fire. What if a VR fan would go into the Guns section and start a post "Is Axl Rose every gonna get his head out of his ass and release CD"?? Yes i know it is a Guns n Roses board, etc,etc but this is the VR section and the same rules that apply in all of the other sections should apply to this one, if that isnt the case take the Velvet Revolver section down. It is old all of this VR fans vs. Axl fans. Alot of VR fans like Axl and his new band, but some of you Guns fans entice all of this "Us vs. them" sort of mentality. It just isnt cool.

While this thread may be divisive, and I don't despute that, the questions of whether or not Scott Weiland has a unique identity have existed since STP broke in the early 90's.
