it'd be a long time for anyone..........

« on: November 13, 2007, 11:28:04 AM »

so its been 4 months since the band got off the tour now and we ahven't heard much official news for a little while. Some of the guys in the band seem to be keeping themselves busy (Dizzy, Ron, Frank, Richard) with other projects at the moment?

anyone got any ideas what the "strategy" may be, ot if their even is a plan?! it jsut seems strange that we got loads of official updates for a while, even non- GnR related ones, but we haven't heard anything about *whisper* a new album for quite some time, not even a rumour has been reported!

any rumblings??

What mini tour?? Huh?

Are you referring to that 94 date tour that began on May 12, 2006 and ended on July 21, 2007? ?confused

But you're right that it wasn't the Chinese Democracy Tour.? I believe it was called the "Guns N' Roses World Tour"? Roll Eyes

I do love me some Oreos.

But yea, the general consensus is that the record company is causing the delay at this point.  Didn't Sebastian even say it in one of his interviews?  And of course, Mysteron is a pretty damn reliable source.

The posters they put out looked like Chinese Democracy, and the stage had Chinese letters on it.

Well, it is going to be the next album so why not?

You are thinking too hard about it.

Besides, it's a good thing they did the tour prior to the album because now a lot more people actually know who is in the band.  Exposure is always a good thing.

I can't help but feel that the recent mini tour was nothing more than a display to let the record companies know what the band is about.

Oh, and I thought the band played for the fans, not for the record company....

I don't believe for one minute it was a real Chinese Democracy tour.

It wasn't.

Check the t-shirts sold at the concerts. World Tour 2007.

The band was too ambiguous about naming the tour "Oreo double-stuf" so they called it something else.? Wink

who cares what the name of the tour was?  thats such a stupid technicality.   GnR played 94 kickass shows regardless of what they called it.

The likely explanation was that the tour was something they did to keep busy and make some money while the album was being mixed and what not.  Nobody on the outside knows the details but from what Merck said a year or so ago, there was going to be some sort of legal or financial red tape they were going to have to get around regarding the label prior to a release

Is GNR even legally bound to a record label anymore?

The signed a deal with Geffen for six albums, so unless they renewed their contract after greatest hits came out...Then again that could be considered seven.

Does anybody realy care what the tour was called. The only thing to me that mattered was that they toured and I got to see them live.

This years tour was a continuation from last year.? They were able to get to Countries they missed out in 2006.? Unfortunately they couldn't do the South African dates because of the injury to Tommy.

It seems like at different points of the tour it was called Chinese Democracy and others World Tour.  I HATED the world tour name, but I guess if the album isn't finished or ready to release soon that its better not to be called the chinese democracy world tour.  They made the same mistake back in 2002.

GUNS N' ROSES ANNOUNCE "CHINESE DEMOCRACY" NORTH AMERICAN TOUR AND STRATEGIC RELATIONSHIP WITH MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL ADVANCED MEDIA

That's from the News Network section. It didn't have a link, but I assume it was from gunsnroses.com.
And on top of that my tickets for their Aussi show reads "Chinese Democracy World Tour" as did the advertisments in the newspapers, and posters around the city.
