I remember standing in line May 12, 2006 while they filmed all the fans outside.? I remember cameras being around us all night long....but I don't think we'll ever see any new footage of the band.? They did the same thing in Vegas back in 2001..an ENTIRE camera crew was there and GN'R almost released a DVD in Japan, but it got cancelled.

Didn't Sebastian say that they filmed all the shows on the tour? It would be really sweet though if they'd release some sort of DVD combined with the record  Smiley

Axl is the mother hoarder. Word on the street is that he has hundreds of hours of music, footage from the latest tour and that UYI movie that was never released. I'm shocked that GN'R at the Ritz was never released too.

One thing about GNR that does really annoy me is how little original high quality product (I'm referring to audio/visual here, I couldn't care about dart boards, scented candles etc) there is available. If there was more I'm sure the earning potential of both old and new band members would ge greatly increased.

They have been pro-shooting every GNR show for as long as I can remember and that is a pretty long time.  I can't even imagine how many hours of footage Axl must own.

rofl at him being the ultimate hoarder because it's true!

They film every show, they have live feeds to the big video screens during the shows so. I'd kill to get my hands on all the 2006-2007 pro-shots.

Will it make it onto a DVD for a release?

If it was filmed, the possibility is there.

This is a question that has been asked since the UYI days, seriously.

I mean the possibility is always there but I wouldn't hold my breath.

It will....Years from now, after Axl has passed on. Once the estate controllers start getting their grubby hands on everything in order to make a buck all kinds of stuff will be realeased...look at Hendrix or the Doors ...... insane.

Well, I just answered the question.

The possibility is always there, but I doubt that we'll see it in the near future.

But I have no idea what Guns N' Roses intension is regarding this either.

Your guess is as good as anyone's as to what he actually does with all that footage.

But seriously, they should release some of it like a lot of bands do nowadays-releasing the material to the fans so it cuts down on all the bootlegging.  In one fail swoop Axl could cut all the hoarders out of the picture and release every show that is "claimed" to be in existence.

Just because they film it, doesn't mean it's filmed for a commercial release.

I do remember being handed a piece of paper at the Hammersmith Apollo show basically stating that it was being filmed.

I dont think that there is only "one" reason for filming the shows..
They can use it to find things they would like to change/do better. They can use smal clips
for commercials and stuff like that. And if there is one show they really feel could make a live DVD from
they can. Its like people bringing cameras on vication.. to record theyr expirience. Not "just" because they
are going to release DVDs... Remember that this is a big thing in theyr lifes, and they may want to record it
for personal reasons...

But who knows.. it would be cool if we got to see something from this recording..

They wouldn't release a dvd without the album otherwise they would have to release without the new songs.

I believe they will have plenty of material to release after CD's release, including DVDs and/or a live album.

all that footage will surface up one day....it always does....even the (in)famous vegas show will be up for grabs....when though is anyone's guess...maybe it has the same road to travel like Marc Canter's video clips......maybe we have to wait 20 odd years before we see any of it.....i just hope we're all still around when those dvd's come out.... hihi

they also film for legal reasons.....meaning possible liability/litigation issues....
