a story being told like November Rain or live concert footage?

I think live concert footage would be cool.  The only video that I know of that has live concert footage all the way through it is Live and Let Die right?  PC and Estranged have some live footage added in.

But say for example, Guns released Better and did a video for it.  That song would just need live concert footage for a video.

But then again, GNR are known for their magnificent videos so what do you think?

They could make something huge out of a video for "Better". If they use the lyrics as a narrative to follow it could be a massive "Estranged" style drama.  Cool

I prefer simple and not verbose videos.

As much as I am a fan of the November Rain/Estranged type videos, I really don't see anything like them being make again. It was kind of a different time back then. When they were made videos were much more important to selling records and as a result record companies were more willing to put money into making videos. These days videos aren't as important to selling records and I doubt the record company is really going to be up for putting more money into Axl's project so I doubt we'll see anything near the level of those past videos.

That being said, I'd hope for something more than just concert footage or a crappy stagged performance like the video for Slither (I'm not bashing VR, it's just the first example that came to mind). I always thought those kinds of videos are really meant to be for the third or fourth single off the album when the band is busy touring and don't have time to make a good video so they just have some footage edited together of live shows.

But I guess this is all a moot point, since in order to have a video they first need to release music, which doesn't appear to be happening anytime soon. ?confused

I would definitely prefer a mix of both.

I wonder how they are going to handle Buckets parts in the videos?

I don't care about a video because where do you go to see videos these days? I still watch Headbanger's ball on MTV but it's not even on the original MTV station - it's like MTV2 or something - unless there is a tv station that is playing videos that I don't know about? I don't have time to download and watch videos at work (of course I shouldn't be doing this anyway).

Sorry having trouble with my keyboard.  rant Anyway, what is the point of a video when no one really plays videos anymore? I wouldn't even bother unless of course Axl has a really cool idea for one of the songs and wants to produce a video as part of the promotion.

I was about to say that live performance videos stopped being played on TV at some point.  Then I realized that all videos stopped being played on TV at some point.

Lots of people (including myself) have ipods and such like that play videos. So videos still are important.

If a band is big enough (and GNR most certainly are) people will want to see a video. No video = no mainstream audience. And lots of us want GNR to be the biggest band in the world again so sadly videos are a necessary evil.  peace

I'd rather them not make any videos.

Leave the video era in the past.

id imagine it'll focus on Axl and be gradiose enough to take the attention off the fact that the old members arent there

I doubt it.
GNR com has mentioned any member in the band and the exes are already seen in another band as mentioned in this thread.
