Heard One in a Million being played yesterday at Fopp - which is a music/books/dvd store, so not that random a place really - but its not often you hear that song anywhere these days.  The guys at the desk had it turned up pretty loud as well - nice to hear it booming out in central london!

Changing room chat

It's a hard-rock life for Butcher

THE days of the Scotland team running out at Hampden to the sounds of Runrig's Loch Lomond could be a thing of the past.

There are fears among the Tartan Army this morning that if new assistant manager Terry Butcher gets his way then Guns N' Roses will be blasting out over the Tannoy when Croatia visit these shores for a friendly match next month.

Butcher was unveiled as George Burley's right-hand man at a press conference yesterday, and concerns over the former England captain's nationality have been overtaken by concerns about his taste in music.

Butcher's mobile phone went off during the media call and suddenly the opening bars of Sweet Child o' Mine filled the room as the former Motherwell manager' s ringtone echoed around Cameron House.

It seems that the man who has a liking for England's rose also has a wee thing for Axl Rose.

Butcher's favourite two bands are understood to be Guns N' Roses and Iron Maiden, and it's safe to say he far prefers hard rock to Scottish folk music.

I was on holiday in Barcelona (great fuckin' city!) for the last few days (february 1st - 5th) and I when I was at the Fnac on Placa de Catalunya (first thing we did) an Axl impersonater was on all of the tv-screens. The sound was off so I didn't "hear" GN'R anywhere random. It was so fuckin' cool though!

I also bought Bach's record there (finally, had to fly all the way to Barcelona to find it).

I was at work one day on my lunch. I was talking with one guy and then some other guy comes in and joins the conversation. We all kind of start arguing and I'm having to be on the defense. Then I say something like "shut the fuck up. I'm trying to eat my damn lunch. Go away! I'm not listening to you guys anymore, I wanna listen to Axl Rose." Then I reach up and turn the radio on and Live and Let Die was on. Fucking coincidence, amazingly awesome.

I was at the 2008 Hungarian F1 GP about a week ago and while waiting for stuff to happen heard them play Sweet Child O' Mine at the Paddock Club.

Over the normal PA they kept playing things like the Top Gun soundtrack and music from Rocky. But over at the Paddock Club (I think it was, it was on the pit lane side of the track at least) they played Sweet Child O' Mine.....

I saw the trailer for a new movie Death Race on TV last night, they were playing Welcome To The Jungle.

Here is the trailer...the song starts a little past the halfway mark.

Chinese Democracy out 2014!

« Reply #117 on: September 16, 2008, 05:24:33 PM »

I was in the army, hadn't heard any music in three weeks as we were locked up.. so after three weeks we were leaving the island  for a cooper test, so we got in to a bus and when the radio was turned on, Civil War started. It was so cool and it sounded so fucking great, listening to that song and seeing normal people going to work and stuff. Cool feeling!
