So until we get an album, I dont really consider anyone a member.
Well, I guess that I'll have to respect your opinion.
So when they release an album they're members according to you, but until then, they're not...?
But they've been in the band all along!
Apparently bands who play live but haven't released albums don't have any members.?
/jarmo
No, Most "bands" that only play live and cant produce anything on their own are called cover bands

Even if that is what you want to call them, which is complete crap but another discussion altogether, those kinds of "bands" still are composed of band members.

So GN'R was a cover band up until December 1986....
Got it.

Everyone needs to quit dissing Buckethead. He is one of the best guitarist ever. If you see him live you'll become an instant fan. I'm def. buying the album!

BH is a genius. He is an awesome player and is really missed in the band. I saw 15 shows with him in the band and he was special. Just give credit where credit is due and give the man some props...

I hope this CD will have some funky beats like the music they did in Praxis.

How can Brain be still in the band when Frank has probably drummed at more shows?
I don't consider someone a true member till they release original material of their own within the band.
For instance
Bruce Kulick for me didn't become a member of Kiss until they released "Asylum" in 1984 I think it was. When he took over for Mark St. John on the Animalize tour, he was still a hired gun.
When he wrote and contributed to an album,t hats when he became a member.
So until we get an album, I dont really consider anyone a member.
you've got some strange logic there.

yes, after you mentioned it.
excellent observation.
slightly more subtle than "Chinese Food Democracy" for an album title

its funny how people think they have some kind of authority to decide who is or isn't a band member. Unless D is Axl Rose, his opinion doesn't mean shit.

Basically why people keep acting like they've seen the contract? seems as if to their mind Axl has to be such a control freak as to interfere in each member's affair outside of the band. Where did they get the idea?

For all we know, Brain has quit too.
I don't know of that. I heard he was in GNR family and I haven't heard otherwise yet.

OK, a couple stupid questions from me:
1) If Brain is still in the band, why has Frank been with them exclusively since the US tour in '06? (I'm not being an ass, I'm serious. Why wasn't he there? Was it because his wife had recently given birth?)
2) Why would Axl give a shit if Brain and Buckethead work together? Tommy has released stuff outside GNR, Dizzy has done a bunch of shows, etc. I don't think Axl *hates* Buckethead, so it shouldn't bother Axl if Brain works with him. And if neither are in the band, it's none of Axl's business anyway.
