Been a while since ive posted on here.

1. CD - from searching around i can clearly see that we still don't have a date for the release.

The best rumour or current one seems to be feb 08! where do we get this from?

2.1st single - any ideas or rumours!

last time i was around we thought better!! as it was on some harley advert, anyone know any current news....

Right now it's like we're reliving 1997-1999; 2002-2006 - literally no news is forthcoming.? This doesn't bode well for an album that was suppose to be out 9 months ago.?

i wouldn't compare this to those time periods, axl will be on a record less then a month from today, some month ago he said "the timing coulnd't be better" (yeah he has said an awful lot of stuff but still..)

and come on, it was a tentative date, but when it comes out it'll be better then if it came out months/years ago..

GN'R have managed to keep things secret in the past.



Remember when there was nothing and suddenly we had multiple shows to look forward to?

In the past, news about the album has appeared when nobody was expecting anything.


Stop assuming that no news means nothing is happening.....

I still believe that the album will be out as soon as possible.

i dont post much at all, but ive read every day for the past 6 years or so... and all we do is have the same conversations...... its very tiring

so i see why people are so pessimistic and impatient


on the other hand... people really need to learn to accept that it will come out and when it comes out, and theres no point to speculate on it, or worry about i too much...theres just no way to know...

Well, first you write some songs, go to a studio, record the songs, mix, master, whatever you want, then your record company will pick the most radio friendly song on the album to start promoting it, some bands also release a video clip, then usually after three months the album is released. That's how things work. Writing and recording may take some time, so usually the band avoids long tours during this proccess, you know, to keep the focus on the record.

Jarmo, as long as I have known you or of you from way back from '96 on the Dust N' Bones mailing list, I've always enjoyed your opinion.  Moreover, I've always appreciated your commitment and efforts to the GNR community and fan base.  That said, as often as I agree with you, I find my opinions in contrast to your's on numerous occasions.

I'm not sure if you read my entire post, because at the end of it I do acknowledge that I do believe that this album will come out. 

I'm not one of those nay-sayers who say this album will never come out.  I'll go back to the interview in 1999 when Axl said that they're not putting all this work NOT to put it out.  There's also the economic arguments that dictate that something needs to be released to pay off the mountain of debt incurred from making this album.  It will come out at some point, but since no one is saying anything, who really knows when that will be.  And until it comes out, I've got my life to live

I only know what I know, and all I know right now is very little.   I don't contend that nothing is going on.  Like I said, there's most likely legal issues or mixing issues or bandmate issues that are all possible reasons as to why the album isn't out yet.  But since there's been little to no indication that the album will be out soon, that only leaves a logical person to believe that it won't.  That doesn't mean it won't be out by Christmas, but if you were to have to bet something substantial on it for arguments sake, based on prior experiences and issues to date, a wise person would bet on a longer delay. 

Moreover, I do argue that in 2006, we did have a light rain if you will before the storm of shows.  There were leaks, there were numerous Axl appearances, and there were plenty of rumors floating around about possible warm up shows and a tour afterwards.  Moreover, we did have Axl saying at the Korn concert that you would hear music this year.  Other than a few ambiguous statements by Axl in a press release about Bach's upcoming album and Del's admission that recording is done in late February, we there has been little to nothing.  You could point to the tour in Asia/Pacific, but Chinese Democracy world tours haven't always (in fact never) yielded any new albums before.

And soon as possible is a relative term.  It's hard to argue the efficiency of a project when it's been ongoing for over ten or eleven years.  Hey, it's their art, they can do what they want with it, but seriously, it's only Rock N' Roll.

exactly. what does "as soon as possible mean?" It means nothing. It can mean tomorrow or in 20 years. Just like what does "soon" mean? Well, we are still waiting for that and while im at it, just like i said a year ago, the word "tentative" means nothing and gave them an excuse for another delay. Im stating facts here, not opinion. Just look back and what was said and what has happened. Unfortunately, a lot has been said, but nothing has happened. I've been waiting for 16 years for the new album and i will continue to wait. i have no choice. i hope its "soon......"

another blah blah blah thread.? i hope we see this cd soon, as i'm starting to get bored with waiting.? i've been content lately with listening to older bootlegs, as the newer concerts seem pointless as we get no news of the "forthcoming" album.?
