Yes, that was obviously a sarcastic remark from Chris, playing on all the insane stories about Axl's behavior. Also, wasn't the events that transpired prior to Axl entering the Eddie Trunk studio broadcast live on air? I don't remember anyone entering the studio before Axl did (I remember them saying "he's in the building", "coming up...", "here he is"....)

I've seen this story pop up online from time to time and to me it didn't "smell" right.

So I contacted Beta and here's their response:


"This falls under "Stupid people say stupid things.

It never happened. We'd assume Chris was joking as that's his schtick and Axl was the 1st one in the room from our group.

That anyone would run with this nonsense seems a bit desperate to find anything (regardless of how far fetched or absurd it might be) to support whatever their fucked up agenda might be."
