heres some more tidbits...in rock n rio 1991 billy idol and GNR played the same night and Axl requested Faith No More play the same night which they did...so all 3 bands played the same night on day 1 of rock n rio

I remember that show on New Years...I think the biggest response from Soundgarden that night is when he was offering his glow in the dark Ozzy shirt to the crowd.

What a great show...GNR on new years eve for $20.

I saw Soundgarden in Philly in 91. I thought at the time they sucked and the bass player drove me fucking nutz jumping around like a pogp stick all night. Sort of looked like a big goober up there. And to be honest I do not remember what the crowd response was to them.? Nothing sticks out so it was probally just something to listen to till gnr hit the stage.

Since that time i like a few of there songs.

Nothing can beat Skid Row opening for GNR back in early 91. That show kicked ass.
The crowd went wild for skid row.  Best fucking show ever EVER 

Both bands were banned from ever returning
