Smashing Pumpkins vs. Nirvana

Both bands were massive in the 1990s and shared a similar fanbase, both frontmen fucked Courtney Love. Which do you prefer?
I'm going to go with the SP. I like Nirvana and think Cobain was a great songwriter, but I just find Corgan's work to be more satisfying.

What's boring is your constant whining that you bring to every thread you post in. Don't like the topic? Don't post. Easy.

The Smashing Pumpkins, without a doubt
I find Nirvana's music to be incredibly one-dimensional compared to anything Billy has put out.

agreed. u tell him!!
i'm gonna go with the pumpkins, i like nirvana but the pumpkins are incredible.
Siamese Dream
is utter perfection in my opinion, and Mellon Collie came damn close.
Corgan dated courtney exclusively before kurt came into the picture, that always surprised me. they are still friendly too. billy really doesnt seem like the kinda guy who would dig courtney...

I like them both. Currently I"m listening to the Pumpkins a lot more cuz they just released a pretty kickass album, and I probably prefer them, although its close. But no doubt that Nirvana/Kurt had a bigger impact on music.

pff, that's like comparing Aaron Carter to GNR.
when you come up with a more fair discussion, I'll participate!
on topic, right now I'd say Nirvana. even though I probably have listened more to SP over the years.
anyway, both bands are/were friggin awesomely great.

I like green because its green!
Seriously, I like both. Nirvana were the band most identified by the 90's alternative music and Generation X.
SP simply put out some of the best music from that decade and are still active.

Pick up Mellon Collie & the infinite sadness. It is their best IMO.
Gish is a great one too.......
Unlike most rock bands these days, SP never make the same album twice.

ur spot on about them not making the same album twice...
i'd reccomend Siamese Dream over Mellon Collie tho, Mellon Collie was my first SP album and surprisngly enough i had trouble getting into it.
i think Siamese Dream was the first SP album i really fell in love with. i just loved the cool song structures and all the layered guitar madness!!, jesus christ. i think for one song Corgan had 40 overdubbed guitar parts. insane! it sounds awesome, i love that the fuzzy guitar sound.

In terms of the buttocks of the bass players, I'd go with the SP. I bet Billy smoothered his face in the bare naked buttocks of Ginger, Melisa and D'arcy.
