I always thought Paradise City was a bad choice for karaoke. It starts off great, but eventually most people who get up to sing it regret the choice. The problem is that it's too repetitive and a long song. Kind of like Don McLean's American Pie. Seems like a good idea at first until your 4 - 5 minutes into the song and you're just repeating yourself. I find Sweet Child O' Mine gets a better reaction and is a lot more fun.
Cheers,
Andrew

both jungle and PC are too hard to really pull off..
I've had GREAT experiences with sweet child though.. that is always a hit if you're a good singer.
whoever made that list obviously has never been to many karaoke bars!

Don't establish those type of joints, maybe their fall will be the betterment to us all ... God(FSM) will show his mercy, if, and that is a big if, we don't patronize those wankers, we will be forever blessed with "beer volcanoes and stripper factories".

I think "Used to Love Her" would be a good karoake song. Unfortunately, the average joe probably wouldn't recognize it compared to others on that list.

You should have seen the cover they wanted to do. It wasn't a glove, believe me.

I imagine don't cry is relatively easy to sing on karaoke and less embarrassing that it didn't make the list.

Little story to bore the GNR masses but I feel the need to share....So I went to my local Chinese joint on Christmas Day in Oceanside, CA called Chin's Palace....it is this cool ornate Chinese restaurant that has a Karoake Bar attached to it. It usually is never open when I have picked up food before but this X-mas night it was getting ready to open so I went to get a cocktail while waiting for my food....The bar is really old school and there was some really cool red/green christmas lighting going on all over the place...I was the only one in the bar just sitting there when I started chatting it up with this cute girl that works there named Leah...I am married but was engaging in a little bit of innocent flirting. We were just shooting the shit as I was downing my stoli rocks talking about the bar and karoake in general when Leah asked if I would attempt to sing Karoake. I immediately declined as I have the worst voice along with no rhythm. The only singing I am doing is in my car when no one is around and the radio is up so loud with Axl blaring out the speakers especially lately with "There Was A Time", "IRS", and "Sorry" but beyond that no way....I emphatically declined and asked her if she would sing some Karoake. She belted out some old 70's tune about trying to get out of Los Angeles. It was nice as she had a pretty sweet voice. So one more Stoli rocks in she said that it was my turn and that I could pick any song...so I threw out the only song that has been in my head and not left me since 89/90 which was "Patience"...of course the song was available so it was going to happen...so it started and there I was on the stage with the music started getting ready for "Shed a Tear cuz I'm missing you"....I was a rock star for 5/6 minutes...It was only Leah and Otis the bartender in the bar but "WOW" what a feeling..I basically sang in a corner hiding but a couple times I stopped thinking about the embarrassment of it all and started really feeling the song with maybe even a couple of attempted Axl slithers throughout. Of course I did not need the lyrics as that fucker is ingrained and there were definitely parts that I skipped like the final "AND I NEED YOU's" that Axl screeches like a muthafucka...Anyways...Patience is a good tune for Karoake as you can sing it pretty low...it was just all so random...I just went to pick up Chinese food on X-mas night and next thing I know I am singing "Patience" on a stage into a microphone channeling my inner "Axl"...thanks to Leah for breaking my Karoake "Cherry" as she called it and thanks to "Axl" for all the music...I think that will be my last "Karoake" unless another random act of fate leads me to be alone in a chinese Karoake bar and the music starts to "Estranged" and I belt out "I'm talking to myself but nobodys home...you can't fool yourself...your just in this world alone....alone...."
