Slash wrote the music and as far as I know, Axl wrote the lyrics alone.  That is what I meant by my comment...sorry if I wasn't clearer  peace

I doubt that since the credits are usually for the lyrics alone , im sure slash probably threw a line in or two we all know Axl wrote most of it I just had to point that out lol.

quit being so damn sensitive yo

By pointing out that Slash has some writing credits in a song , why don't you quit being so damn sensitive.  Roll Eyes assholes these days.

I'm not really so fond of Back off Bitch myself, but it does have a really, really good intro.

"Ain't It Fun"

I agree with the list for the most part.

I never liked Don't Damn Me, probably my least fav song on the UYI Set. However, it could very well be because Axl never performed it live. Songs like Rocket Queen and My Michelle, when performed live, became favs of mine because Axl and the band put real passion into them.

Bad Apples would have been great live because the entire band wrote and sang that song and its too bad they never performed it live (except maybe at RR2 1991).

Great list beer Thanks for someone finally giving props to "Back Off Bitch." But hey, what about "Breakdown"?

I've always wanted to give Breakdown a chance and really get into it, but I've never found a way to understand the lyrics.  WTF is Axl talking about in this song?

Haha, well-said. This is a song that I equate to Madagascar - it could have been a tremendous hit. Beautiful piano, great , great lyrics, but Axl just gets a little too crazy on it with the quotes and the strange sayings - I like the song, but It was always brought down a notch because of the strange shit going on - Same with Maddy - That could have been so much better without the damn quotes and movie lines

I actually feel that the quotes and movie lines make Madagascar a really great song.

I love "Breakdown".  The music and lyrics are great, the only thing I am not a huge fan of is the spoken word at the end.  I think probably ruins it for many fans.  The rest of "Breakdown" is amazing.  One of my favourites

One In A Million always got stir cause of the whole nigger usage but I LOVE THAT sound its years ahead of its time. Start to finish is just beautiful

"Immigrants and faggots they make no sense to me / They come to our country and think they'll do as they please /Like start some MINI IRAN or spread some fucking disease "

" So I thumbed it , down to 6th in LA / Maybe a greyhound could be my way "

Bucketheader- The Original And Best

« Reply #38 on: September 22, 2007, 09:16:32 AM »

Yo guys! (first post, i'll post my hello in a while)

The 7 i'd choose would be.

-------------------------------------

Right Next Door To Hell

(agreeing with) Back Off Bitch

Dust N' Bones

14 Years

Double Talkin' Jive (which was amazing to listen to the first time with the killer midsection solo into the outro by Slash...man)

Bad Obsession

Coma (for sure, 10 minutes of awesomeness)
Logged

Dude seriously, the album's coming, just be patient ok.

Bucketheader. The real deal on this forum and others.

I play in a little band called Patchwork Grace too.

For those interested, I wrote a new article at WickedInfo.com entitled "7 Great Unknown Guns N' Roses Songs." I stayed away from demos and bootlegs and just went for great songs that most casual fans don't know. I'm sure many will disagree with some of my choices, but that's what's great about Gn'R; they have so many great songs that it's impossible for everyone to agree. The link to the article is: http://www.wickedinfo.com/content/view/174/1/

Steve

Nice list, great read.  I think Coma has to be the best rock and roll song ever written.
