Former Motley Crue vocalist John Corabi is taking part in a new tribute album to his old band. John is doing a new rendition of Home Sweet Home, which started out as a simple acoustic arrangement much like Motley performed on their ?94 tour. But the track has become something quite a bit more epic. John is very excited about the arrangement and just finished the recording today.
In addition to John?s performance, this will be the first Motley tribute to feature songs from the ?94 self-titled CD. Three songs from Corabi?s days with the Crue will appear: Hooligan?s Holiday, Power To The Music, and Misunderstood which will feature John on background vocals. More info to come.

Corabi recently completed writing his autobiography and has issued the following statement. "The book is finally finished. Now all that has to be done is add some photos, edit the beast and we're off to the races!"

Corabi has these upcoming live appearances:

2/17, 18 - Walker, MN - Northern Lights Casino with RATT
2/25, 26 - Tokyo, Japan - KISS Mini Expo with ESP
3/13 to 27 - Sandestin, FL - Rum Runners with HOOKERS N' BLOW

I'm intrigued to hear this new tribute, hopefully it will be decent.  I always thought the self-titled record was underated, it was a great record it just wasn't a M?tley Cr?e record.....

At the end of the Winter X Games, I heard a new version of Home Sweet Home with Chester Bennigton of Linkin Park on lead vocals.

Does anyone know what cd this is on?  Tribute maybe??

M?TLEY CR?E bassist Nikki Sixx has posted the following message in his online diary:

"I really wanna thank everybody who has bought stuff from the auction [for Nikki's 'Running Wild in the Night' charity for runaway children]. We're over $60,000 now and on our way to our first $100,000. This is gonna go along way for the kids at Covenant House, but we have a long road ahead of us. My Harley just sold for $21,000 which really gave us a boost. That's amazing? Thank you, thank you, thank you.

"It's been nice to be home but as usual the days have melted away too quickly and it's about time to head out on the road again. I hate leaving the family behind, since i never really had one. They're the most important people in my life and to be away from them is hard, to say the least.

"Donna [Nikki's wife] just wrapped her movie in Santa Fe and I flew out to meet her and drive back together. It was amazing, the time together. We took some great photos along the way. Her website should be done in a few weeks and I'm sure she will post some.

"She just gets home, I just leave? This is our life, but I call it a quality problem. But I still miss the hell outta her??

"Enough from me?.. Let me just thank the buyers from the auction again?. You fuckers rule?."

can anyone tell me what was the point of that song they recently released? I think it was called if I die tomorrow?

definitely one of the worst songs ive ever listened to, vince is such a weak singer, and the song is pure cheese.

Motley Crue were a fun band at best back in the day.

M?TLEY CR?E bassist Nikki Sixx has told the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer that he is anxious to begin work on the band's new studio album, which is tentatively planned for early 2007. When the band head to the studio in May to work on new material, the focus will return to the rock.

"I just looked down at my list, and I have 45 ideas for songs," said Sixx. "Mick's [Mars, guitar] probably got somewhere between 40 and 100 riffs. Tommy's [Lee, drums] got a ton of ideas.

"I'm really anxious to start playing new music. I'm panting, I want it so bad."

Sixx, the guy who wrote "Too Fast for Love" and "Girls, Girls, Girls", told the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer about how happy he is to have settled down.

"Tommy is single, so he's able to drink and party and do what he wants to do," said Sixx, 45. "But I think in the end, everyone wants to be in love. I'm very fortunate that I'm madly in love and have an amazing family."

That's not to say that his wife ? actress Donna D'Errico, who graduated from Pacelli High School in Columbus ? has totally tamed the beast.

"I'm sober, and I'm sick," said Sixx. "I'm sick in the head. And all that support and all that great stuff around me allows my artistic side to be even more demented."

M?TLEY CR?E bassist Nikki Sixx has posted the following message in his online diary:

"We're back on the road after a nice long break. I mostly spent time with my wife and kids but I did get in some songwriting and a few photo sessions (behind the camera, not in front). I posted some under studio here on the website. Check them out and enjoy. It was a rush to work that end of the lens in the studio. Many, many more to come, but for now I'm back in the groove of touring. We have a jam room set up in every city for writing and will take the ideas home and finish writing the album starting in May.

"Donna [wife] just wrapped her first movie since she took time off to raise the kids and has two more in the works. She's working on her charity for Cambodia and will be doing some photo sessions coming up soon too (again, behind the lens). It's hard to be away from our kids but at least one of us is always there in these busy times.

"We plan on adding some new tunes to the set to keep it fresh (mostly for us) since we're not really playing any of the same cities? We just need a few days to settle in before we start working them up."

According to TheState.com, M?TLEY CR?E's concert at the Colonial Center in Columbia, South Carolina Sunday nbight (February 12) started an hour late because of stage issues, but that just gave more than 7,000 fans more time to drink.

From the opening chords of "Shout at the Devil", you could feel this show was going to be remembered as decadent ? even in M?TLEY CR?E lore. And when lead singer Vince Neil was hit with a water bottle thrown from the audience, you knew the night was special.

"You don't throw (expletive) at the band," bassist Nikki Sixx said as the music ground to a halt. "Why don't we find that guy and bring him backstage."

Neil, who started the show in the No. 4 jersey of USC standout wide receiver Sidney Rice, threw his microphone into the audience only to return 15 minutes later to continue to rock carnage.

M?TLEY CR?E bassist Nikki Sixx has posted the following message in his online diary:

"Well, we're three shows into the tour and so far we've only had a few 'M?TLEY moments.'

"I blew a front tire on my bus on the highway. As soon as it blew and bus started to swerve, I instantly thought of the METALLICA incident. Vince [Neil, vocals] got hit in the face by some asshole with a cup of piss. Last I saw of the guy he was handcuffed, face bloodied, screaming 'I'm sorry, I'm sorry'?. What an idiot.

"We're only three shows in. So far, so good.

"Ah, life on the road?"

In other news, Launch Radio Networks is reporting that M?TLEY CR?E plan to start recording a new studio album on May 1, and the group doesn't want to go in empty-handed. Sixx told Launch that the quartet is working on new songs while on their Carnival Of Sins 2006 tour, using facilities such as a portable studio belonging to drummer Tommy Lee. "Tommy's got a studio in his bus," Sixx said. "We're gonna use Tommy's studio on the bus to document stuff as well as, we have a room backstage with equipment set up that we jam and work on riffs and ideas, and we can record it right there as well."

This will be the first new studio album by the band's original lineup since 1997's "Generation Swine". Lee was not in the band for 2000's "New Tattoo".

M?TLEY CR?E perform tomorrow (Tuesday, February 14) in Wilkes-Barre,
Pennsylvania.

Seems weird especially considering the bands are fairly different sound wise these days....

.....but i guess most people can bury the hatchet i mean fine Vince & Axl hated each other but that was years ago and i still think it was more to do with band rivalry than actual major personal differences.  Remember Tommy Lee & Vince hated each other and that falling out was much more recent and much more personal so if they can patch things up then Axl & Vince should have no problem.  Everyone is older and wiser now.  From Axl's Rolling Stone interview and mentions of Izzy & Slash he's obviously much calmer and relaxed about past issues....

I agree with you there Stoned. He certainly seems more at peace with all that stuff. Would certainly be interesting tho! Would have love to have seen their reaction when they were asked to open for Guns N' Roses.

Edit: I know this is being discussed in some GN'R threads but was keen to hear what Crue fans think about it.

Honestly i'd say they're doing it for the money and exposure.....

....no such thing as bad publicity and everyone knows whether it gets good or bad reactions the interest in Chinese Democracy will be big either way....

I'd like to see them as the permanent support act (since i'm not travelling to Ireland....) it's not often you get support acts this big or good....
