From Def Leppard's Joe Elliott:

Oct 14 2011

But Joe insists parents needn't bother locking up their daughters - despite the reputations of Motley Crue rockers such as Tommy Lee and former heroin addict Nikki Sixx.

He said: "Because of a documentary where you see someone throwing a telly out the window of a hotel, people get the impression that is what we all do.
"You talk to Nikki. He has been clean since he was toe-tagged once in the 80s. He's a far more sensible character these days.
"He has his own radio show here in the States and has had me on the show a couple of times. His stories are similar to mine. He dresses like Nikki Sixx with the warpaint on.

"But without trying to blow their image, they are living on past reputation and I don't mean that in a bad way."
Motley's lead guitarist Mick Mars will join the band despite his ongoing battle with ankylosing spondylitis, a chronic, inflammatory form of arthritis affecting the spine and pelvis.

Diagnosed when he was 17 years old, he underwent a hip-replacement seven years ago.
"Motley Crue have all had their issues," Joe admitted.

"I'm not suggesting they are teetotal but Mick Mars has been pretty ill for a long time and just to get him onstage is probably an effort.

"He is hardly likely to be propping the bar up until three in the morning after a gig. What their reputation is now is what they do onstage and how they present their show, and that is what Crue are good at.

"Those guys were more known for their antics than their music and I think, eventually, that started to annoy them.

"We used to get riled when people called us a hair metal band. If that's true, then so are Led Zeppelin.

"It's a ridiculously stupid, lazy term by people who can't be bothered listening to the music because they are fans of REM or Tom Waits. We've put up with that all our lives.
"When it comes to bands like Motley Crue and us - and this is not me bitching - I have been asked about having a beef with the English press.

"I said that the only people who get into the Hall Of Fame are the Tom Pettys and Bruce Springsteens.
"They don't want us or Black Sabbath in there because it is seen to be dirty. It is just a game and you fall foul of it sometimes."

Did I just read Def Leppard and Led Zep then Def Leppard and Black Sabbath in the same sentences?

This from the same guy who said there would have been no Nirvana if it wasn't for Def Leppard.

Uh Joe, you obviously have a much different view of the legacy of your band than well, any...sane person.

No question.

Sixx has become quite the offender as well although I find his ramblings on The Crue's
"importance" less offensive than Elliot's mindless blather.

He's just proud, a fau pax or however you say it.

Motley Crue did almost define an entire decade of musical culture and inspired lots of genre's.

MOTLEY CRUE?S NIKKI SIXX MENDING AFTER KNEE SURGERY

Yesterday

Not even the mighty Nikki Sixx could emerge from this summer?s Glam-A-Geddon Tour unscathed ? but after undergoing knee surgery on Wednesday (Oct. 19), Motley Crue?s longtime bassist is on the mend and ready to rock.

Sixx, who injured himself while the Crue was on tour with Poison and the New York Dolls, took to Twitter to tell fans, ?Surgery was a breeze. Now I?m under doctor care. Man, I am so gonna milk this situation in my favor.?

Now, the ?doctor? Sixx was referring to isn?t a licensed physician ? she?s his girlfriend, model Courtney Bingham. She may not be able to prescribe painkillers, but we doubt he?s complaining about her bedside manner.

She knows how to keep Sixx in line, too ? the next day, he tweeted that ?Today is a good day to ditch the crutches and break out one of my sick canes I collect,? only to be caught and whipped back into shape by Bingham: ?Already got in trouble with Courtney for not resting. Good thing she?s asleep right now, I can catch up on my jumping jacks.?

Here?s hoping Sixx mends quickly ? Motley Crue is scheduled to head back on the road in December for a package tour with Def Leppard and Steel Panther.

Didn?t mean to bolt

Vince Neil accidentally ran out on his tab at Marble Lane after having dinner at the Dream Downtown?s restaurant Tuesday night. The Motley Crue rocker, wearing ripped jeans and a leather jacket, had a double date with a woman and another couple, but Neil forgot to pay his bill -- which included charges for Veuve Clicquot Champagne and Patr?n Caf? shots -- before heading upstairs to rooftop club PH-D. A waitress chased him upstairs where he happily settled up.

Motley Crue?s Vince Neil pleads guilty to disorderly conduct

Monday, Nov. 7, 2011 | 10:07 a.m.

Motley Crue singer Vince Neil pleaded guilty today in Las Vegas Justice Court to misdemeanor disorderly conduct, avoiding a more serious charge of battery constituting domestic violence.

The charge stems from an incident in which Neil was accused of harassing his ex-girlfriend and her friends following a show at the Las Vegas Hilton last March.

As part of the plea agreement, Neil will pay a $1,000 fine and the battery charge will be dropped. An allegation of physical contact was also dismissed, and the record was amended to state that Neil ?pointed at? instead of ?poked? Alicia Jacobs, his ex-girlfriend.

Neil, 50, did not appear in court and was represented by his attorney Richard Schonfeld. Schonfeld said that Neil paid the court fine Monday and the case is closed.

According to the arrest report, on March 24 Neil entered the Shimmer Cabaret at the Las Vegas Hilton and confronted Jacobs, who had ended their relationship two weeks earlier.

Neil allegedly pointed his index finger and yelled profanities at John Katsilometes, a Sun columnist and editor, and Patricia McCrone, who were with Jacobs that night, the report said.

Neil also allegedly poked Jacobs in the right shoulder, police noted in the report. After Neil left, Hilton security was alerted and Metro Police were contacted.

NIKKI SIXX Offers M?TLEY CR?E Big-Announcement 'Hint' - Nov. 29, 2011

M?TLEY CR?E will make a "big announcement" during an appearance on this Thursday's (December 1) and Friday's (December 2) editions of "Piers Morgan Tonight", the nightly hourlong show that replaced "Larry King Live" on CNN in January. Tune in at 9 p.m. Eastern/6 p.m. Pacific to see it. Until then, the band is revealing some clues. The second one can be seen below. The third clue, which will be revealed tomorrow, is expected to be the word "band," with the letter "N" in red. The three red letters will then spell out "sin," as a reference to Las Vegas, Nevada, which is commonly known as "Sin City" due to the popularity of legalized gambling, availability of alcoholic beverages at any time, and its tolerance of various forms of "adult entertainment", mainly prostitution and strip clubs.

According to Robin Leach of the Las Vegas Sun, M?TLEY CR?E will become the first hard rock band to sign a short-term residency at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas. The CR?E is rumored to be playing a nearly monthlong series of three-and four-night concerts a week at the off-Strip casino starting at the end of February.

That ain't gonna sell for shit. Last summer when they were here with Poison the show wasn't sold out, what makes them think they can play here for a month? Tickets will have to be dirt ass cheap. I'll go check them out once or twice for sure, for old times sake....but to me their show just isn't worth it. 90 minutes (and not a second more) of listening to the crowd sing for Vince.

Why do people feel the need to come in here and constantly trash Motley? If you don't like the band stay out of the thread. I'm pretty sure this is the most trolled band thread on this forum. I saw Motley last summer, and I'm the bands biggest critic when it comes to live performances and they fucking rocked! Vince sang every word and he sounded great.   I guess a lot of you only like a band if they can sell out arenas or something?

And axlrosegnr get rid of the horrid disgusting Rebel flag avatar. Every time I see it I think of some bucked tooth cousin fucking red neck douche bag.

Motley Crue ready to 'rip it' in Sin City residency

Tickets for M?tley Cr?ein Sin City range from $65 to $179.50 and go on sale Saturday at 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT at motley.com, the Hard Rock website (thejointlasvegas.com) and Ticketmaster.

The stationary show is a new concept for the band that's currently touring with Def Leppard in the U.K.

"When it doesn't have to move around from city-to-city, day-by-day, options become incredible," says drummer Tommy Lee, 49, who adds that the show will be an interactive experience where fans are "in the show, not watching the show."

Though the guys are vague on details, they hint at naked Girls, Girls, Girls, some non-Cr?e entertainers, a souped-up drum kit and sky-high production values. "You're going to leave and say, 'Dude, I can't believe what just happened here,' " says Lee.

The band will be rocking together a decade after the release of autobiography The Dirt: Confessions of The World's Most Notorious Rock Band. A lot has happened since then: Lee has been DJing electro-house music with DJ Aero, and Neil was a contestant on ABC's Skating With the Stars and came out with his latest solo project last year, Tattoos & Tequila. Both said "the time was right" for the Vegas gig.

Neil, who is a Vegas resident, says he's excited to perform for all the walks of life that visit his city. "It's going to be everybody ? a biker standing next to the attorney," says Neil.

Attendees are "coming there to rip it, Vegas-style," says Lee. "That's why we signed up for this."

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha rofl rofl rofl

Possibly the funniest thing I've ever read here. You're kidding yourself if you think that Vince can actually sing these days.

Why is it when he says "Shout at the devil" it sounds like:

"Shaaaa-ha-ma-nevaaaaaaaaaaaa"

He just makes noises that resemble the actual lyrics.
