Oh, i didn't know that, i remember hearing a while back that they were getting back with dave and doing a US summer tour, i'm guessing things are still being finalised.

VAN HALEN SECURE EAST COAST REHEARSAL SPACE:
I know there is maximum interest out there in hearing any positive Van Halen news, so here's just a little bit. The band's 2007 tour plans are on track and I hear that everyone is doing just fine. There is good health and good harmony within the band!
Now - what I heard today was that the band has secured an East Coast venue for a weeks worth of rehearsals...and this popular venue could be the starting point for the tour. The timing of this is stated as late September/early October.
No update on the timing of an announcement, but it cannot be far off!

A small blurb in the new RS as well, talking about how a fall tour is likely (though unconfirmed) at this point, and confirming that Wolfgang remains the band's bassist.

Report: VAN HALEN Tour To Be Announced Next Week - Aug. 6, 2007

According to Ray Waddell of Billboard.com, sources say a Hollywood press conference in one week will announce a 50-date American arena tour by VAN HALEN to begin in early October. The tour will feature founding VAN HALEN members David Lee Roth, Eddie Van Halen and Alex Van Halen, with Eddie's son Wolfgang on bass.

The long awaited Van Halen reunion tour is on: Rolling Stone has confirmed that the band will make an official anouncement at a Los Angeles press conference sometime next week. The band lineup will be David Lee Roth on vocals, Eddie Van Halen on guitar, Alex Van Halen on drums and Wolfgang Van Halen on bass. The fact that Michael Anthony isn't a part of this feels very, very wrong.  Especially after the kind words he had for Eddie and the band during the RnR Hall of Fame Induction, as well as Sammy saying "It's time for Dave to tour with the band again, and time to give the fans what they want."

I'm not saying I'd pass up the opportunity to see Dave and Eddie on stage together again, but still.

I'm done bitching after this, and - like I said - I'll definitely catch the tour if the opportunity presents itself.

Having said that, it'll just be so strange without Michael Anthony on board.  His vocals are such a part of the signature VH sound, that - at least right now - it doesn't seem like they'll be able to replicate without him on stage with the other original three.
