I hope so.  They *should* be.  Given the comments he and Dave made, they know that everybody needs to step up and make this work again.

So I was watching the race, and EVH makes a little pre-recorded statement.

He looked like a cross between Load-era James Hetfield and a bum.  He had his EVH with him.  He also took a hot lap with Kurt Busch.  His goatee was gray.

It's his 1995 look-I think he looks great-I liked his look during the Balance tour-he had put some weight on was sober (or at least trying).

ccording to GuitarWorld.com, a new VAN HALEN tell-all, entitled "Everybody Wants Some: The Van Halen Saga" (Wiley Publishing), is scheduled to hit bookstore shelves late August. Written by noted metal journalist and radio host Ian Christe, the book recounts the life and times of the L.A. group that rose to hard rock dominance in the late Seventies.

The book begins with an account of VAN HALEN's explosive arrival on the California hard rock scene in 1978, revealing the powers of lead singer David Lee Roth, wunderkind guitarist Eddie Van Halen, good-natured bassist Michael Anthony and complex drummer Alex Van Halen. The story follows the band's development and success, through Sammy Hagar's replacement of Roth in 1985, and his own replacement by former EXTREME singer Gary Cherone in the late Nineties.

In addition to the band's history, the book recounts the discord between Eddie and his frontmen, his drinking, his relationship with Bertinelli, and the secrets behind his guitars.

"Everybody Wants Some" will be released August 31. The 320-page hardcover book includes a 16-page color photo insert and will sell in the U.S. for $25.95.

VAN HALEN LOOKING AT 2007 LIVE DATES:
So, the word has started to leak...Van Halen are setting up a tour for 2007 and should everything fall into place it will start sooner rather than later. David Lee Roth, Eddie Van Halen, Alex Van Halen and Wolfgang Van Halen have gotten together and parties involved in all aspects of the Van Halen machine are mobilizing to get this tour set up. I can confirm dates and venues are being penciled in. There isn't much more I can say at this time, but safe to say should everything go to plan (and we all know how things can change with these guys), the band should hit the road for US dates starting in September.

Eddie is currently on the cover of a guitar magazine, yes?  I remember seeing the cover with the words "Thank You" below, but it was shrinkwrapped and I couldn't flip through at all...anyone get this issue?

The group ? which now includes Eddie Van Halen?s sixteen-year-old son Wolfgang on bass ? nearly launched a tour this summer until Eddie announced he was going to rehab. The tour would be their first outing with Roth at the helm since 1984. Earlier this year Rolling Stone asked David Lee Roth whether the tour would happen. ?I have hope and faith, and that?s more than just the name of a couple of strippers from Albuquerque,? he said.
