VH was at it's best with Diamond Dave.  EVH reminds me a lot of Axl, but this Van Halen guy makes Axl look like a yes-man.  I feel bad for Anthony and Alex, they really want to go out and play and do something with themselves.

Hagar had his chance, now put Dave in the game!

Guitarist Eddie Van Halen appeared on "The Howard Stern Show" this morning (September Cool to promote the upcoming porn movie called "Sacred Sin", for which he recorded two songs. During the interview, Eddie stated he is open to playing again with former VAN HALEN frontman David Lee Roth, and described himself as being on the outs with VH bassist Michael Anthony and Sammy Hagar (he referred to Sammy and Michael's THE OTHER HALF touring group a "cover band"). He also revealed that his next venture into music will be an album featuring himself, his brother Alex Van Halen on drums, and Eddie's son, Wolfgang.

Well, then.  It sounds like Van Halen as we knew it - either with Dave or Sammy - is done.  If Dave comes back and Michael isn't there, it still won't be the same.  That's just a damn shame anyway you look at it.

I enjoyed the part about Eddie and a friend treating and curing his cancer on their own, and that they're apparently keeping the "cure" a secret.

When did the guy get so weird?

Yeah Baz, that was pretty funny too!  Although I don't believe it at all.  Why have reunion tours when you can make billions selling the cancer cure?

I think he lost it in the 90's.  He spent WAY too much time at 5150.

Now *that* is funny.  "In light of the fact that I've cured cancer, I have no plans at this time to reunite with Diamond Dave for a nostalgia tour..."

Crazy, crazy Eddie.

MelodicRock.com is reporting that VAN HALEN will likely tour in 2007 with David Lee Roth as frontman. Citing "information from a highly placed source," the site states that negotiations are currently underway to reunite VAN HALEN with their original frontman for a tour in 2007 that will take in America and possibly other territories.

It is not presently clear if VAN HALEN's upcoming touring plans will include bassist Michael Anthony, who has apparently had a falling out with guitarist Eddie Van Halen. In a recent appearance on "The Howard Stern Show", Eddie hinted that the bassist slot would be filled by his son Wolfgang, although this has not yet been officially confirmed.

VAN HALEN last toured in 2004 with Sammy Hagar, but the tour ended on a sour note and Hagar has not talked to Eddie Van Halen since.

VAN HALEN has been nominated for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007, along with eight other acts, according to The Plain Dealer. This is the first nomination for VAN HALEN, although the group has been eligible for at least the past three years. R.E.M. and the RONETTES are the other first-time nominees on the latest Rock Hall ballot, which also has CHIC, THE DAVE CLARK FIVE, GRANDMASTER FLASH, PATTI SMITH, THE STOOGES and JOE TEX in the running again for enshrinement, according to a source familiar with the nomination proceedings.

Well it's called the rock n roll hall of fame but Rock seems to be the odd man out lately.

TMZ.com reports that VAN HALEN has officially hired 15-year-old Wolfgang Van Halen ? the son of guitarist Eddie Van Halen and estranged wife Valerie Bertinelli, and nephew of drummer Alex Van Halen ? as the new bassist for the band.

Wolfgang replaces longtime bassist Michael Anthony, who left the band earlier this year. VAN HALEN spokesperson Janie Liszewski tells TMZ.com that Wolfgang, known as "Wolfie," has already joined his dad and uncle for rehearsals in the studio. Wolfie played dates with his father during the band's 2004 tour, and the song "316" on 1991's "For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge" was named for Wolfie's birth date that same year.

According to TMZ.com, the band is still without a lead singer, despite rumors that David Lee Roth might rejoin.

Good God.  Just when you think they've exhausted all things ridiculous...

Wow.  Just...wow.  So "Van Halen" will feature crazy Eddie, ever-loyal Alex, a fifteen year old bass player, and possibly an unknown singer?

Time to hang it up, boys.  Or at least start using a new name...
