I love Van Halen. But ticket prices are WAY too expensive.  68$ for the cheapest (here in Montreal, it is a very small section up in the sky.....I will pass this time around.  At least, get a real opening act.  Not Kool and the gang....WHY Kool and the gang as opening act?

Ticket prices in Montreal:
68.50$ / 101.50$ / 131$/ 155.50$

If you compare with the Gunners...2 opening acts (Danko Jones and Sebastian Bach) and almost 3 hours of Gunners for 75$ (most expensive tickets)

Van Halen: Kool and the gang as opening act (45 minutes)  and 2 hours TOP of Van Halen for 68.50$ / 101.50$ / 131$/ 155.50$

Forget it!  I'll stay home

I remember the '04 tour with Sammy was real expensive-Eddie played like shit the whole tour-the fact that they will be playing new music makes me want to go, but I have no interest in hearing Panama and Runnin' with the Devil for the millionth time-I heard a snippet of the new song, and I like it

Video: Van Halen?s New Song ?She?s The Woman? at Cafe Wha?!

http://www.vhnd.com/2012/01/07/video-van-halens-new-song-shes-the-woman-at-cafe-wha/

Van Halen played one new song last night, ?She?s The Woman?. As die hard fans may know, this song actually came from an old demo made in 1976. Ever since the discovery of this demo, die hard fans have been wanting the band to release this as official material. Although the new song is based on the original demo recording, the song has been tweaked and changes have been made on the new recording, such as having a completely new guitar solo. Read our full review of the Cafe Wha? show.

Yeah but that was Van Hagar you saw in 2004, of course you left dissappointed.  That is not and never was Van Halen.  This is Van Halen with David Lee Roth, playing songs off of the only 5 albums that matter, the ones from 78-84 and hopefully some cool new ones.  I guarantee you wont be hearing any songs like "Poundcake" at this show.. hihi

I gotta say it, as much as the Roth era songs are more "badass", Hagar had some pretty good shit to, Poundcake,Black N Blue,Best of Both Worlds are some rockier stuff and Cant Stop Lovin You is an awesome song, as is When Its Love, lotsa great vanhagar stuff, but yes this is the original band (fml still minus anthony) with Roth and ovcourse he can hardly sing anymore, but I just hope this album is good and ill be seeing them for the 1st time in toronto

It's kinda well known VH is a dysfunctional group, but Sammy calling them a joke is a stretch. VH were not the ones to pull out of the Australian shows, the promoter cancelled the gigs because of poor ticket sales and Aerosmith backing out.

Aerosmith were supposed to come too? I didn't know that!

Van Halen and Aerosmith on the one bill, that would've been awesome! beer

VAN HALEN: 'A Different Kind Of Truth' Track Listing Revealed - Jan. 6, 2012

According to MelodicRock.com, the track listing for VAN HALEN's much-anticipated new album, "A Different Kind Of Truth", is as follows:

01. Tattoo
02. She's The Woman
03. You and Your Blues
04. China Town
05. Blood and Fire
06. Bullethead
07. As Is
08. Honeybabysweetiedoll
09. The Trouble With Never
10. Outta Space
11. Stay Frosty
12. Big River
13. Beats Workin'

"A Different Kind Of Truth" is now officially confirmed to arrive on February 7 via Interscope.

The deluxe-edition version of the CD will contain a bonus DVD featuring four brand new acoustic performance videos.

The first single and music video from "A Different Kind Of Truth", called "Tattoo", will arrive next Tuesday (January 10). A pre-order is available at Amazon.com.

A 30-second audio sample of "Tattoo" is available in the YouTube clip below.

The set will be the group's first all-new collection since "Van Halen 3" was issued 13 years ago, and its first with singer David Lee Roth since "1984".

VAN HALEN returned to the stage for the first time since the end of its 2007/2008 reunion tour on Thursday night (January 5) when the band performed at the tiny Cafe Wha? nightclub in downtown Manhattan.

The set list for the evening's show stuck to VAN HALEN classics from the six albums of the initial David Lee Roth era, with the exception of a tune called "She's The Woman". That song originally appeared on the 1976 demo, produced by KISS bassist Gene Simmons, that got VAN HALEN their record deal with Warner Bros. It was left off the group's 1978 debut but has been resurrected for the new disc.

Uh, well...ouch.

Based on the single, this could be one of the 2 biggest domestic commerical flops for a much anticipated comeback record of a major brand named US band I've ever seen.

Its not THAT bad, but its not a great song either.  However, I dont think its gonna be a flop.  Recording with Dave back is a huge deal.

I'm going to stick with opinion on the single although I do agree, Roth being back will definitely have a positive impact on album sales and concert attendance.

He is synonymous with the Van Halen brand and brand/band member recognition is very important here in the US, especially when the identity is so stongly tied to the what is perceived as the classic era of the band.
