i went to the show in philly monday night. it was awesome. the band sounded A+, and Dave sounded very good. he was able to hit most of the notes. i'd give him an A- on vocals. stage presence was very low key though. i guess his age and bad back prevent him from acting like the dave of old. he did talk and interact with the crowd a bit which was cool.

it was just incredible to see this band in person playing all those hits. i went to the show with 5 other people and they all ended up buying tix for the second show wednesday night to see it again. it was really a great show.

Is there an opener for Van Halen or is it just them?

So how's the tour going?

Haven't seen them yet, going to the New Jersey show, but I have the first 4 shows on my ipod and they are smoking. Completely blows the awful 2004 tour out of the water on every single level.

Does he play his father's music or does he have his own thing going on?

So how's the tour going?
I haven't read one bad article yet about the tour.  Getting glowing reports from all over.

Okay, so the first not so flattering article popped up in the Hartford Courant the other day after their show at the Mohegan Sun.  The title of the article makes it sound worse than it really is.  Can't please everyone all the time I guess.

First things first, I want to give a shot out to my man Sammy who turns 60 today!

On to =VH=. Does anyone out there feel that this tour is slightly underwhellming? I mean, it's as though they are touring, and that's that. The Police reunion seemed to have gotten more press.

Well, The Police are more "pop" and that's why they had more coverage.  Van Halen, to the general population is still considered to be HEAVY METAL.  And we all know that metal gets no respect.

Have you seen the new shirts posted on VH Links?  Some cool stuff, like the Runnin' With The Devil since '78 shirt.  but mostly they are going back to the original shirts and slapping 2007 on them.  Hope they come out with some more stuff, or re-issue the older shirts, as they had some cool stuff back then.

I am so freaking excited.

It hasn't gotten a whole lot of press - it deserves it though. VH was never a philosophical band. Music critic snobbery would tend to give the Police the nod.
