I think it would be fun if they covered something kinda obscure. Maybe by a popular band, but still not their most well-known song.

Kinda like how they never covered the Sex Pistols' biggest "hits", instead they picked "Black Leather".

I agree that Johnny's cover is exeptional! But still, it would have been fun to hear Axl's twist to the song. The hard part of covering a song, is making it sound different, but still keeping it recognizable. There's not just ONE way of doing things...

If Axl sang love hurts before 1994 it would sound EXACTLY the same as the orignal Nazareth Love Hurts.  Now on the other hand, well, I don't think it would sound as good.  It would be more like Barry Gibb singing it.  I do agree the music could be updated though.
