electric light orchestra - don't bring me down

Did you hear that little snippet of the ELO track "Rockaria!" he did in Birmingham in 2006?

I didn't know what it was at the time, I just thought it sounded very cool....

This is going to sound really wierd...but I was forced to listen to someone else's music choices today...a song came on that I thought may be Christina Aguillera (thanks to a lousy sound system).  Couldn't stop thinking how much of a 'This I Love' feel it had, and how great it would sound if Axl sung it (as a duet).

Turns out it was Celine Dion!?!   My Love.  Wierd...Celine and Axl onstage... hihi

I have thought for a long time that this would be a very cool song to hear the band sing. Fo anyone who knows the song and the lyrics, it would be wild to hear the band cover it at a gig!

Anyway its: Hey Bulldog by The Beatles. Amazing tune!!

The Abbey Road Medley

just heard Steven Tyler do the 4 songs: She Came in bathroom window, Golden Slumbers, Carry That Weight and The End

could only imagine how amazing Axl would sound on these.

My top 5 would be:

Nasty by the Damned
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qPrwTsjwOxE and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C2NiDexe8s8

Cats in the Cradle by Harry Chapin (the Ugly Kid Joe version on Youtube seems to get credited to GnR a lot)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cyt8bz9auV8  Roll Eyes Great song though...

Champagne Supernova by Oasis
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g3C7DECI0jU

You've lost that Loving feeling by the Righteous Brothers
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lhs3Rj71gpo

and The working hour by Tears for Fears.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IdDfI2aBENk
That's something completely off the wall, but would work in my view... beer

Close your eye's and imagine the tones  ok Enjoy

After hearing again the Rolling Stones original version of Gimme Shelter (I used to hear a lot the Hellacopters great cover) on Call of Duty: Black Ops, I think this song would be really good in Axl's voice.

« Reply #594 on: January 22, 2011, 11:20:07 AM »

Different take on this.  I would love to hear the Ballad of Death become a full blown song.  Would be great if Axl wrote lyrics to it and they completed it into a song with all the appropriate parts.

Yeah I loved his collaboration with Elton John on that song, even though he only sang the outro.  That part gives me chills though, still.

Thank you so much for the link I mainly mentioned the song because we are going to sing it for a concert for Choral and I love Queen! But this is so cool even if Axl only sings the outro.

Just shared it with them on facebook hope they like it!!!
