My dream CD features:

Disk 3: The making of DVD.

Dick 4: The world tour Live DVD.

2. Limited Edition Packaging as shown below. Leather zip case with 48 page book inside. With lyrics and never before seen images detailing the making of CD.

3. CD North American Tour Pre-Sale Password

Thanks man! I have been thinking about this for a long time. I just hate all these flimsy limited edition cases that get damaged. Aerosmith's A Little South of Sanity Limited Denim Edition was released a few years back. I bought it, though I am not a big fan, because I thought the packaging was really cool. I got it home and the bloody plastic insert that holds the cd was broken inside, the CD fell out and was immediately scratched. I always thought that a fabric slip case, like people buy stand-alone, would have been the way to go if you really wanted to do it right.

Edit: Also, in a softcopy download world the only way to move hardcopy CD's is to offer something people would really get in their car and drive to Bestbuy for. There will be a time in the near future where record stores will only carry specialty items like limited editions and box sets. Canada legalizing downloads has almost gotten there already. I was just working in New Brunswick and they had 5 different versions of the new Pumpkins album.

i don't think they would do a making of DVD. don't know how you could fit 343 years of production in a DVD. Unless they do it by seasons. Chinese Democracy: Seasons 1-15.

My dream CD features:

1. Limited 4 Disk Edition

Disk 2: The Demos, the entire track listing in demo version mirroring the original. Okkervil River just did this on their newest title "Stage Names" with much acclaim.

No way this will happen given GnR's perfectionism and not wanting low quality material out there. Would be cool though to have different versions maybe with different guitarists playing different solos, Sorry with and without Bach, 2002 demos of "Chinese Democracy" and "The Blues" (given how much they've changed), etc.

2. Limited Edition Packaging as shown below. Leather zip case with 48 page book inside. With lyrics and never before seen images detailing the making of CD.

Why exactly 48 pages? hihi

They officially released the demo for Don't Cry.

As far as 48 pages... it seems Ltd Editions always have 48 pages.  Tongue

I'd love to see that documentary thingy about them touring Europe last year, that 5 minute video made me hungry for more! besides that some kind of  video interview would be cool, with Axl but also with the other members..some kind of introduction where the people who buy the CD can get to know the other members a little bit better, and between the interview parts maybe some clips of them playing live.

My best attempt at the rest with my crappy Paint Shop Pro skills. I know this is a little generic and unimaginative, but it still paints an idea of how the finished product could look. I won't even attempt the booklet.

Disk 1

Disk 2

DVD 1

Thanks for all the positive feedback guys. I am seriously thinking about making a prototype. I have friends in the graphic imaging industry, I may be able to make it affordably.
