TV Show "The Shield"

Do you know this show? Its written by Shawn Ryan (later he wrote "The Unit"), with actors like Michael Chiklis, Forest Withaker, Glen Close, etc...
Im a huge fan, and know we're waiting for the 7 season, wich will be the last. Its an intense cop show, but nothing like the traditional cop shows. This one is very raw, and very very real, with great plot, and great twists to the story...Well, i was just wondering if anyone in here knows this and what are your thoughts

I liked the first season, but after that the show went down quality wise for me. The storylines just got quite a bit far fetched and I lost interest.

You know it was based on real facts. A special team inside the police that got their hands dirty and went down with it. The Shield doesnt follow those facts from the beginning till the end but its from that story that all began.
I love the show and it has great actors, and the way they record it it's a very efective way to bring the crowd into the "crime scene"
