On guitar I could probably play most of them if I took the time to learn them, but I have a strange relationship to GnR.. Its like I admire them to much to mess with their songs at all, I learned all Metallica, Megadeath, Skid Row, Bon Jovi, hell even most of Dream Theatre and Yngwie Malmsteens stuff I laid my hands on one time or another, but the songs are kind of holy to me...   Huh Roll Eyes

I know what you're saying, sometimes, learning to play a song ruins the magic for you, and its hard to listen to it the same way again.

True, but most of the time it makes me appreciate it a lot more.

When I learn a song that I used to consider great, and it (after a lot of practise of course) starts getting easy to play, it kind of sinks on my list of "great songs" , its actually kind of unfair of me, but thats just how I feel sometimes. I dont want that to happen with most GnR tunes. Like, when I was 11-12 years old and learned the GnR standards like KOHD, Dont Cry, Paradise City and Its so easy , after a while they turned out the less favourite songs in my head, so I stopped to try learning the rest, and I kept it like that ever after...   love

True, but most of the time it makes me appreciate it a lot more.

Catcher In The Rye

I learned how to play locomotive all the way through, my band is thinking of covering it  yes

its not a very difficult song, except for the many parts, and the main riff that played in the intro and the verses. The straight continous sixteenth notes mess me up sometimes.

I have a bit of trouble with the timing in that song during to chorus. I can do it but it took me ages to get and I still fuck it up from time to time.

I play guitar and have now started to play bass also, and I gotta tell you. I don't play any Gn'R songs as a whole, except like Patience or KOHD with the chords. But playing some solos and riffs.. ummm.. I just start to practise and then I realise it's just waste of my time rofl Listening to Slash/Izzy/Duff/Robin/Richard playng them makes me sad. Well not really, but anyway.. Every time I try to play Locomotive, I really think I'm raping the song good time!

I'm a drummer and I can play all GN'R songs. The only ones I have a bit of trouble with are GOE, YCBM (intro) and RATB.

What do you and can you play?

Yea AFD is by far one of the best jam along albums , I especially love it when I have the volume turned just perfect to where my amp is louder then slash's guitar part but not the whole band. So I get the effect of me playing slash's part with GNR as my backing band.....ooo the drunken paradise city jams lol
