Stone Temple Pilots- Shangri-La Dee Da

yes. especially this album, but every STP album is underrated in my eyes, that band never gets enough respect.

i can honestly say i love every single song STP ever made. can't say that for VR (although i still like them)

Bruce Dickinson - Accident of Birth. I'm sure that outside of the U.S. this cd was well recieved, but here hardly anyone knows it exists.

The Kinks are the Village Green Preservation Society.

I just recently stumbled upon this album a few days ago and I've been obsessed with it.  It's their greatest work in my humble opinion.  I was reading up on it and it pretty much was a flop when it was released, but now it's garnered very much cult acceptance and is celebrated as their masterpiece.  I friggen' love it.

The Fragile - a masterpiece

I don't know, I think the Fragile gets a lot of praise. It's a good album but for its complexity and length the amount of attention it gets is pretty good.

Imo, whenever an average music/rock fan thinks of NIN, they usually think of TDS or more in general, Closer. While TDS is my second favorite NIN album, I think of The Fragile as something more. Instead of Angry Angry Angry and Fuck Pig Fuck Pig, etc, The Fragile actually has that complexity and depth, while keeping the same kind of emotion. The reason why I think it's underrated is that it debuted at #1, then fell off the charts, (literally - a record fall), the next week.

There's obviously more underrated albums, I just happened to think of that one.

Yeah, I guess so. The Fragile does seem 'more' than any other NIN album, but part of that is because it lacks focus or direction. It sounds like a guy with fucked up emotions and a heroin addiction in a room with a shitload of instruments and a mic for 3-4 years. And that's what it was.

Anyways, I'm not saying it isn't a very good album that more people should check out. It's just not my pick as a truly underrated album.

Alice Cooper-The Last Temptation: I think it's up there with Billion Dollar Babies and Nightmare as some of Alice's best work ever. Amazing album from start to finish I can't skip a single song.
The Black Crowes- Lions: Not as great as some of their other albums but still really good and way better than the couple before it. Really just came and went without any notice when it was released.
AC/DC- Ballbreaker: Their best album since "Back In Black". Definately my 2nd favorite Brian Johnson fronted album, slightly ahead of "The Razors Edge" (always preferred the Bon stuff to almost anything).
Guns N' Roses-The Spaghetti Incident: This album gets trashed in the press constantly still and I never understood why. I think the concept was just lost on some. I love to fucking crank up every song on it tho.
Pantera-The Great Southern Trendkill: I think it's their best album and possibly the greatest metal album of all time. Heavy as fuckin' anything but still with kick ass grooves. Better than "Far Beyond Driven" in my opinion.
Black Sabbath-Sabotage: I think Hole In The Sky and Symptom of the Universe are better than any song on "Paranoid". That alone says it.
Jerry Cantrell-Degradation Trip Vol. 1&2: Probably the best thing to come out this centruy. Amazingly honest record, doesn't take any time to show off what a good guitar player he is, cause it's all about the songs.
Izzy Stradlin-Anything he has ever done: Even most of my friends who are big GnR fans haven't heard much of Izzy's stuff just cause it has been so hard to find for some years. Izzy is just a phenomenal songwriter who deserves all of the praise in the world. In a perfect world Nickelback would never have played outside a bar, no one would know who fall out boy were, and Izzy would be played on every rock radio station.
