But we're discussing a band here.    If it was athiests invading a pro-Christianity board then I would think that would be more understandable (although I still would not agree with it).  But it's not even that.  It's a forum about a band who happen to be in a unique situaiton.

I guess we're not going to suggest forcing off those who blindly believe it WILL come out.

Just my 2 cents, but I'm more of a "tolerance" kind of person.

I can see both sides of this argument. It just seems as if these types of thoughts ("it'll never be released", "a reunion is in the works", etc. etc.) creep into every single thread somehow and I think thats why Jarmo and the mods just starting shutting it down altogether.

That's what thrill me. Yeah, they are fans of the old band and want to discuss about it. So why do it on the section of the current GN'R incarnation who, for what is worth, is indeed alive and active?

It's all about attention.

More than once I've gotten PMs from some of them saying "why was my thread moved there? Nobody will read it!".

I have to ecco Jarmo's sentiments when it comes to the album "never coming out" comments, and how this board isnt the place for these posts. Personally I could also do without the "CD is comming out....." speculation posts as well. Inherently while there may be nothing wrong with speculation or even frustration, I fail to see how either adds something to this community. Ostensibly we log in because we are fans of GnR so why not enjoy the great photos, excellent shared bootlegs, great fan comments and not worry so much about the record. Some people seem to feel as if we are owed the ART that the band is working on, In my mind this is incorrect thinking.

I am a realist and an optimist. The problem is the optimist part of me struggles with it because I haven't been able to see the band live (other then the New Years gig at the Hard Rock) ?because the San Diego shows were cancelled. ? I am very confident the new material is solid. ? I think the vast majority of the haters haven't seen the band live for whatever reason. ?It's just not the easiest band to be a fan of. ?Yet I'm still here. ? waiting.........

Whether or not it comes out this year, won't affect anyone at all, because if it does come about people will find a new reason to complain about it.  Axl said himself its just an album ..... The only time the CD will impact me is the cost out of my wallet, then after that nothing.  We need to stop hanging on every word that an outsider says about the album.

I too, am a fan of tolerance.  But being tolerant doesn't provide the same feeling of power as saying "Agree with me or get the fuck off my board."  I think forcing FANS off of a website would be (is) a shitty thing to do.  Some say "why are you here if you're so negative?"  ...I would ask in response, is it impossible to still like the band, even if you don't have a lot of faith they'll release the album (especially not this year)?  Of course it's possible, who are you kidding?

But, I guess if the "My way or the highway" mentality is good enough for Axl...

This thread has gotten a little of topic, but I don't think there is much more that needs to be said about Eddie Trunk.   I think he spoke in tounge and cheek fashion.  The good rule of thumb is that if news doesn't come from GNR Management or Axl himself, it is probably not real news.
