Never once did I say that a reason for Gn'R to not release the album is because of the lack of huge albums still remaining this year.

You mentioned how I was incorrect in saying that as far as I know, the end of this year was going to be quiet as far as "epic" releases were concerned.

Thats where I asked for examples.

Nothing more, nothing less.

What the hell?

To recap what I went on and on about yesterday trying to explain it to you:

You say: The band could use a break
I say: Taking a break to spend time with your family doesn't stop the process since band members aren't required to be physically present 24/7.

You say: Other big bands are waiting until 2008
I say: Because their albums aren't done. Also, if that's the case it makes even more sense to release the album when it gets less competition for the spotlight.

You say: The new year could be a clean fresh start.
I say: The calendar date isn't that important. The release of the album will be the start. It doesn't have to be the first day of the first month of the year.

You say: There's not time enough to promote the album and get it out in 2007.
I say: The record companies always release big albums in time for the Christmas season and still have time to promote them. This happens every year and the year isn't over in August.

In fact, last year's North American tour was announced in September-October. Not in August (unless you wanna consider the Vegas and San Francisco shows the tour).

None of this seems to make sense to you.

The more Jarmo continues these arguments the more I believe we will see a release this year.  peace

I just use logic and remain positive.

I believed 2006 was the year we'd see the release of the album, but it didn't happen.

Now we know the recording is finished and mixing was taking place this spring.

It just makes sense that it'll be out and I belive the band are working on getting it out as soon as they can.

That's just me.

Pilferk pleads - PLEASE STOP THE HTGTH INSANITY!!!!

Smiley

Some of the arguments are getting a little long in the tooth.  They're rehashed, repackaged, redated and being thrown around AGAIN.  I feel like I'm reading the same thread from 2006...and 2005...and 2004.

The long and short of it is: You're an optimist, a pessamist, or a realist.

The optimists all believe it'll come out this year.

The pessemists all believe it'll never come out (or will come out "later than this year").

The realists think the optimists and the pessamists are wasting a whole lot of energy arguing over which one is going to happen, and sit back til someone, somewhere, in an official capacity makes a real, honest to goodness announcement.

What is insane is the fact that there is no new record. Lucky us that there are more bands in the world. Oh and we have  the demos and the bootlegs anyway so why hold our breath for jesus

One question for all those who don't believe that the album will be out: What are you doing here?

Doesn't it seem like a waste of your precious time to come to a message board dedicated to a band you don't think will release their album?

Personally, I could do without your "it's never coming out" posts.

I also know how some of these fans often say "I don't care about any tours, I want the album" but at the same time they think it's not coming out at all.

So I definitely don't understand what they're here for.

Although I'm not in the "It'll never come out" category.  Or the "pessimist" category as Pilferk put it (well), I think they have every right to be here.

There are plenty of bands that are worthy of discussion, even if they're not releasing a new CD.

We'll never see another Led Zep studio release, but they're still worthy of discussion.  It's highly unlikely that we'll see another KISS CD, but there's nothing wrong with talking about them.

I see no reason why those people (who think Chi Dem is never coming) should be forced off the forum.

Your forum Smiley

But we're discussing a band here.    If it was athiests invading a pro-Christianity board then I would think that would be more understandable (although I still would not agree with it).  But it's not even that.  It's a forum about a band who happen to be in a unique situaiton.

I guess we're not going to suggest forcing off those who blindly believe it WILL come out.

"You guys are all fuckheads.  Chi Dem is never coming out.  Stop wasting your pathetic little lives"   That kind of comment adds no value.

"I don't believe it'll ever come out".  I see no issue with that.

Just my 2 cents, but I'm more of a "tolerance" kind of person.

I'm pretty sure the album is complete...but Axl continues to worry about how its going to be promoted.  Just look at the way he reacted to Merck's statement about the 13 tuesdays thing last year.  He continually stated that he wanted this thing promoted the right way, so when something is said on the official site, then we'll have something to tala bout.

My feeling about this GNR is that they're really only had their groove and spontaneous creativity back for the last 2-3 years. I'm personally glad they haven't put out the record yet because it didn't even begin to sound ready until recently.

Its a shame to think that we were waiting in vain between 1998 and 2005 for a record that probably won't end up sounding the way it did in that period will when it comes out (2008? 2009?).

This is probably the most likely scenario we're dealing with at this point and the least the band or Axl could do is clear that up with the fans before they start a riot on the internet and piss off good people like Eddie Trunk.

Will it sound great when it finally does come out?

People who don't believe in the album anymore should spend more time in the Dead Horse board...

That's what thrill me. Yeah, they are fans of the old band and want to discuss about it. So why do it on the section of the current GN'R incarnation who, for what is worth, is indeed alive and active?
