Ahhh...At this point, it's irrelevant who plays live, so long as he's duly represented on the record.

You can still see articles out there where Slash and Duff are referred to as "Guns N' Roses members" (no former/ex/etc. in front whatsoever).... so I wouldn't look to the media for any "hints".

Use your intuition... all evidence points to the fact that (at a minimum) he's decided to step away for awhile AND that the band (Axl) is seemingly cool with it....

Until there's something announced changing any of the above... GN'R marches on with Frank- and one should expect that Frank will handle everything GN'R related for the foreseeable future...

Launch Radio Networks reports: SYSTEM OF A DOWN frontman Serj Tankian has set "Empty Walls" as the first rock radio single from his debut solo album, "Elect The Dead". The track will make its way to stations on September 10. Another song, called "The Unthinking Majority", will surface a little earlier on college radio and metal specialty shows. The album itself will arrive on October 23 through Tankian's Serjical Strike label.

Tankian told Launch why it was the right time for him to step out on his own with a solo project. "We've been a band for 11 years, put out five records, and myself personally, I felt I needed to do other things," he said. "I've been wanting to put out a solo record for many, many years and it's not about just the vanity of putting out your own record kind of thing. It's more about having songs and having a vision and having a place to voice that. So I've been looking forward to doing that and it's making me really happy doing that right now."

SYSTEM OF A DOWN drummer John Dolmayan and ex-GUNS N' ROSES drummer Brian "Brain" Mantia both play on "Elect The Dead".

SYSTEM OF A DOWN has been on hiatus since last year while its members pursue individual projects.

How many articles are we going to get on this type of thing?

Why can't people wait til we hear something more from GNR on the subject instead of taking Blabbermouth.net as a reliable source?

What's your point?  Didn't Ron just produce the Q-Ball cd, and didn't Frank and Bumblefoot do stuff with Frank's other band?

lol.
I cant believe you actually said that.

here's a newsflash;
Ron and Frank have actually performed on the last 30 shows.... unlike Brain. which is why some of the people are interested in his position with the band.

use the logic. it might come in handy some day.

back on topic, he recently spoke to some fans, and confirmed to be back at a later date.
personally, I'd like to see him behind the drums at the future shows.

I can't believe you didn't notice that was written in April.

Why?  Brain has openly said he's looking forward to touring with GnR again once the album is out..  In the meantime if he wants to tour with Serj, I dont see the big deal.

People often over analyze artists actions ,  I ( surprisingly ) agree with Zig Zag on this one. He is a musician , he wants to keep occupied and ain't nothing wrong with getting chops up. It just means that within this time we probably wont see another GNR tour , but jesus they just come off one. The tour ends before the end of this year come on people its not the end of the world.

so thats 2 things correct? They came off a world tour dude , they played amazing shows and put effort into it 24/7. Ron said he never slept half the time as the rest of the band didn't either. Its a stressful life , they can't tour all the time. If brian is up for more touring be happy good but GNR can't tour all day every day!
