There's a lot of bands I have liked, through the years, STP being one of them, but didn't run out and buy their album.  So what? 

I guess you have a different view of music than me then.

Being a fan of something means that I really like it.

Unlike some bands who live on their past, making money by playing the hits every night, week in and out, Velvet Revolver proved they weren?t taking that route from the start. And they?re certainly not a supergroup, as they were tagged when first album Contraband emerged in 2004.

  wonder what that means, is that a dig at new guns or is it just any band who forever plays their hits and never brings anything else to the table??

We know that Slash did show up at Axl's house in 2006. But did Slash really call Weiland a fraud, etc....

Slash says he didn't...so it's going to be a he said/he said kind of thing and we will never know for sure.

That said, I tend to believe Axl. It's more plausible that Slash would deny something, than it is that Axl would just completely fabricate a story. And remember, Slash initially denied visiting Axl at all, so his credibility is in question.

Maybe Slash was high, he did go to rehab for popping pills.

yeah, in my opinion slash was high, saw beta instead of, talked to her about his buddies.
i can't see why beta will lie about that. and if it was a complete fake story, i don't think
axl will let beta endorse that. OR it's a complete manipulation for making troubles in the VR camp,
but i don't believe in conspirations and i can't see the point, it's stupid. so.....

I doubt there were any singers who Slash had records of who were available, particularly as most of his favourites are from the 60's and 70's. Scott was suggested by Duff, in particular, and also known personally by Matt and Dave. Slash had known STP from the radio and liked it and thought he would be suitable. I don't see the problem?

I know you hate bringing GnR into this section, and I normally do too, but its important to bear in mind Richard Fortus and other members of GnR have admitted to not owning GnR records before joining the band and working with Axl. Similiarly, Axl didn't know much about the likes of BBF, for example, until Joe Satriani suggested him.

Sometimes its about finding the artist who is most suitable for your band rather than the one you're the biggest fan of. It seems to have worked for GnR and VR.

This is one of my favorite bands currently going, so I'm just glad I have at least another album to anticipate.

Even though Scott and Matt are in camp freddy together, have hosted camp freddy together, and most interviews seem to have scott and matt together, it would seem they are the two that get along the least.

I used to think this too, but having now been in a room with the two of them for a couple of hours I no longer have that view.  They definately get along great (or did that evening!)

Nothing to tell really.  There were maybe around 10 of us in a hotel bar sat around talkin gofr a few hours.  At the time I remember thinking that I'd read from various sources that they don't get along, but they were cool with eachother all night.

There were rumors he was trying to get back in GNR by going to his house.  Well, Axl's statement portrayed that anyway.  So, that must be what he meant.  That he was depicted as begging to get back in the band.
