Axl's Microphone

I always use that red sponge mic. when I m singing. its not just accesories. but can reduce your voice.and also make you more cool .

You can probably get it a little cheaper.  I have the Shure Beta 87 radio mic and receiver etc and it cost ?1000 about 4 years ago.  I have only used it twice - so if anyone wants to buy one....... PM!

wow.that expensive. probably im still using standar mic with red sponge for a very long time.its looks the same anyway .

Those arent the exact models. The one he uses has the little chord on the end of it.
It's a Shure U2/Beta 58A UHF wireless system.
I got this information from the Shure Artists' Relations themselves.

Pretty sure its a Shure mic, possibly the SM57........... there was one in the Appetite for Collection section a few days back!

yeah it's shure sm57 nowadays but i like uyi tour mics more ones with red and blue filters  , they gotta be shure brand too cuz he was in their ads since 88 or somethin'.

Yup, it is a Shure SM58 Beta. In 2007 they switched Axl to the Beta 58A from a standard 58 in part to gain a tighter pickup pattern that would reduce some of the ambient bleed coming from onstage. Along with the tighter pickup pattern, the mic allows for a truer quality in sound. According to Elmo Sheldon, the engineer in charge of Axl's personal mix, "The mic has a clean transparent sound; Axl's voice isn't colored by it in any way. His voice sounds like it should to me."

PS: CheapJon, beta usually refers to a version of an product that is made available prior to the official release for the purposes of testing. But in ths case, I think BETA is just a name to distinguish it from the standard SM58.
