Yes, Axl is very anti-drugs.
Axl hasn't taken many drugs in his life but to say he is anti-drugs is a bit of an exaggeration. There is an old gnr interview where he said he had no problem with people experimenting and thought drug laws were a bit harsh.
Yeh, precisely, an old interview. As you get older and see enough people die from the shit, your stance tends to become stronger.
Just read this again and do NOT try to have an arugument about drugs with me.
There are young teenagers viewing this site as well.
As you get older and see enough people die from the shit, your stance tends to become stronger
.
So because young teenagers read the board we should pretend Axl is 'very anti drugs'? ?
Riiiiiight. Are you going to go round telling everyone on the board off who posts that they're stoned as well?
I'll have an arguement with you if you post total crap, and pass it off as fact, which is what you are doing. That might be your personal stance on drugs as you've got older I don't really care, but what makes you assume your opinion = Axls opinion when he has never once even hinted that is the case.
Quote from: Jim Bob on August 04, 2007, 04:46:22 AM
I'll agree we don't know Axl's true feelings on drugs, but we do know he wasn't happy with some of the ex-members inability to stop dancing with Mr. Brownstone and made this well known.
That's very true JB, in terms of drug use Axl seemed to be the only one that never seriously got lost in it, but he also admitted on several times he did do drugs regularly and heavily. His Mr Brownstone rant was more a concern for the future of the band imo, Slash was supposedly really strung out at the time so that's why he said it (according to BTM). There's plenty of stories involving Axl, Bach and 'splenda' that date way after his Mr Brownstone rant.

You live in the past.
The teenagers of today want someone who takes a strong stance on drugs as their role model. Unlike that Weiland guy, hey Jim Bob!?
The drugs that are around today, are pretty lethal comapred to what people did in the 60s (and 70s.......to some extent)
Still you seem to just want to push your pro drugs attitude.
I'm a teacher young man, and I am in a position of authority.

And you have better have plenty of back up for this:
"he admitted several times he does do drugs regularly and heavily"
Now that is utter bullshit.
You also knock Axl alot in the VR threads.

That's got to be one of the funniest things I've ever read, "I'm a teacher young man, and I am in a position of authority", who are you trying to convince me or you?
Ah yes my pro drugs attitude, point me to the post where I've ever claimed I'm pro drugs?
Why bring Weiland into it? Nobody mentioned him, or you clutching at straws again?
"The teenagers of today want someone who takes a strong stance on drugs as their role model." I quite agree but why are you so determined to prove this anti drugs role model is Axl Rose, when he's never once hinted that he is anti drugs? What was is that made you think he was, was it his fond reminiscing of the 'splenda' years with Bach on the Trunk that made you think he was this anti drugs role model you claim him to be?
They're
rockstars
, drugs and rockstars go hand in hand, accept it.

GO to You Tube young man - you'll find his anti-dealer rant there.
You are trying to argue with someone much older than you and you are really showing your age and inability to grasp some new ideas that you have been presented with.
I've done all I can here
so........why don't you just go and visit your dealer.?

i find it interesting to know that in June 2002 Moby told a bit about his experience in the studio with GNR and mentioned that the band was totally clean and sober and that no one was allowed to smoke.

I don't have the original quote but it was clear that Moby wanted to point out that the band was against any kind of addiction.

Ah dear, you know you're in trouble when you have to resort to using age as a way of insulting someone. Big deal you're older than me. I'm not showing my age, you're just being shown up again. You posted BS you can't back up so are now resorting to insults, if it makes you feel good then great but everyone else can see through it.
FYI you've done nothing here, you tried to put Axl on this big pedastal by making stuff up and you've been caught out, accept it. They all did drugs back in the day, they might all still do, who knows, GN'R is known as one of the heaviest drug bands ever, there's a reason for that.
Quote from: Axl
The same thing with heroin. I did it for three weeks straight and had one of the greatest times in my life, because I was with a girl I wanted to be with in this beautiful apartment, and we just sat there listening to Led Zeppelin, doing drugs and fucking. It was great, 'cause at that time I had nothing to do but sit on my ass and make a few phone calls a day. I stopped on, like, Saturday, because I had serious business to attend to on Monday. I felt like shit, sweated, shook, but on Monday I was able to function.
Just a bit evidence to back up what I'm saying ?
You got anything to back up what you are saying yet, you've still not managed to find anything to prove I'm pro drugs, or anything to prove Axl is 'very anti drugs', or even of me bashing Axl in the VR section? Or are you just making shit up again?

I can vouch for the fact that ones attitudes do harden toward drug use as the years pile on, especially after burying close friends as result of that insidious disease.

You have no idea what has gone on in Axl's life over the past 14 years so stop trying to dreg up things from his past.
You then go on to say that "not once has Axl ever hinted that he is against drugs". I referred you to a You Tube clip. It is posted on this site. Did you go to it?
If you did, you wouldn't be back here again showing your age and lack of knowledge on the matter.
People who winge about Old GN'R and Axl being too demanding really should realize that someone like AXl would be furious to know that GN'R did split up for the reason being drugs and drugs only. That is the most stupid reason for a band to split up don't you think?
DUH.
You are living in la la land. I'm done talking to you. I'm waasting my breathe cos you do not get this argument in any way whatso ever - and I am being very kind to you as I say that. The best for you would be to shut your mouth now.

Just like you have no idea what went on in Axls life over the last 14 years. You seem to keep forgetting that bit. You stated as fact that Axl is 'very anti drugs' and I said you had no proof for such a claim and you still don't. Then you said it was BS when I said Axl had said he used drugs heavily and I'd better back it up, I proved you wrong and now I'm not meant to be dragging up Axls past, riiiiight. When is this Axls drug rant you keep refering to, is it back in Axls past which we shouldn't dreg up?
La la land? You're the one passing off what you hope Axls opinion to be as fact, not me.

Funniest post EVER! Drugs are more lethal today?! HAHA HARDLY , teenagers want someone against drug? The last line is just stupid , you have no authority online for being a teacher you're just like everyone else , no higher. Axl had a giant weed thing going on from 89-91 , and if you are telling me the man HASN'T done some coke or heroin than you are a sad person , Guns N Roses was the biggest party band ever. Stolat why must you insist on it? Its almost as if you found out axl was pro-drugs you'd be hurt hahahah. Authority my ass.

As usual, the topic is made to be about Axl when in fact it's all about Steven.
Stop trying to bring Axl into every topic that's about a former member.
