The buck stops here!

From IMDB:

When Late Night's Conan O'Brien takes over the Tonight show in 2009, he will most likely be succeeded by former Saturday Night Live co-star Jimmy Fallon, Broadcasting & Cable reported in its current issue, citing people familiar with the talks between NBC and Fallon representatives. The trade publication said that the network won't make an official announcement until after the first of the year, but it quoted NBC late-night chief Rick Ludwin as saying of Fallon, "I think he'd be terrific, and he is at the top of our short list." Although Fallon has not auditioned for the hosting job, Ludwin said, "We know him from SNL and saw what he can do on-camera and off-camera, and I think he'd be terrific."

Well looks like I'll be able to go to bed an hour earlier in 2009!!  Out of all the people qualified for this job, they give it to the worst idiot possible.  Jimmy Fallon is about as funny as getting a kidney infection.   With Carson Daly finishing up after him, that just may make for the worst hour and a half in the history of broadcast television.  Boo NBC, you could have given the job to a very talented newcomer that has busted their ass to make it in the biz, yet you give it to some washed up SNL alumni who was one of the worst castmembers ever.

at least Conan's moving up, Leno has lost his touch in some ways.

I wonder if conan's band will move up with him, or if he'll inherit Kevin Eubanks.

I'm pretty sure that Conan will take the Max Weinberg 7 with him.......they're part of his show in more ways than one.  What I'm really concerned with is where they'll broadcast the show.  I hope Conan brings it back to NYC.  I don't seem him relocating to Cali so I think we're safe.

I too have been worried about what will happen to the bands.

Kevin works well with Leno, but the Max Weinberg 7 truly is magical.

La Bamba gay jokes NEVER get old.  Or the moustache Christmas lights.

Joel Goddard and Max making themselves look foolish for the show?  Priceless.

If it weren't for the band, Conan's show would primarily exist of these gems:

"We have an excellent show tonight."  And who can forget, "I'm just killing some time here."

Bummer for Eubanks, but I think Max and Conan belong in BURBANK.
