just been browsing ebay and noticed these pics from donnington 88'
there are 3 pics in total and the price is ?100 with bids......is there really something special about these pics or has the bidding just gone daft! i realise its the point where axl is talking to the crowd, but its not worth this amount....is it!

It's because some people got crushed in the crowd there. It had been raining and the ground had turned to mud, basically very hard to walk in terrain. Two people slipped and went able to resurface, suffocated in the mud. One of those crowd conrol things gone really wrong....

Because of what happened there.....
so because of that.... 3 photos are worth ?100!!
im not saying what happened doesnt matter, but theres nothing special about the pics in general is there?
yeah you can see axl talking and security looking into the crowd, but its nothing different to what we already know
these days its very easy to copy photos so just for that reson alone its not worth it

Two people died there man! Two human lives were lost. Dedpends what value you put on a human life.
The Rolling Stones Hyde park gig has the reputation of killing the love and peace generation because of a similar death there.

there is no value to a human life....and i wouldnt put a figure on it
3 photos on ebay that could easily be copies of originals are not worth this amount of money.

Wasn't that Altamont?
But ?100 is too much for three photos. And those pictures aren't really related to the two deaths as such. Just Axl talking to security. And in one of them, some dude's head is in the way.

Actually they are the originals. The sellers uncle took the pictures. He is "UK SUBS" from mygnr.

its good to see they are originals.....with ebay though its easy to get scammed if you dont know the seller
if the pictures did relate to the deaths in some way then the authorities would surely seize them for evidence.
in my opinion all they are is 3 fan photos from donnington when GNR were on stage.
other people might see this differently and put a much higher price tag on these, as the old saying goes
"somethings only worth as much as someone will pay for it" and in this case its ?100 and rising

It depends who's bidding.. If those are the originals and the condition has details we can't see from the demo shots, then a magazine could be bidding on them. Though without the negatives thats pushing it a bit. Then again, if they came with the negatives they would go for a whole lot more than that.

the left stage pic looks like a still from the dvd footage

"I've got trouble logging ino htgth for some reason and my home email address has problems so thanks to Leddy for posting this. Wadey, buddy, the pics are 100% genuine and there are NO SHOTS from any dvd footage? -- I understand they are from three totally different positions which some people may find strange and I'm certainly not here to defend myself. The day was totally insane in terms of crowd movement and our main position for the day was fairly central while Guns' were on -- My best friends Uncle(who took us to Donnington took a ton of pics (Maiden and WASP I think?) and a number of Guns' pics -- These were given to me by my best friend YEARS ago(probably around 1990) as he wasn't into them in a big way and he knew I was -- They were on my bedroom wall for several years with a Donnington blue/black/white poster -- I moved out and got married.
Fast forward to about 3/4 months ago and I was helping my parents move house and was in the loft going through all my stuff from when I was a kid and I came across LOADS of GNR stuff including these photos -- I was in a daze for ages because I'd totally forgotten about them.
As for the price??
There are loads of detail in the photos and I honestly believe they are worth at LEAST ?100 but really it's like you said, everything has a price tag on it. Donnington Park 1988 was considered to be one of the most famous GNR gigs in terms of Axl and co. starting off their amazing journey to Rock N' Roll history. I would also add they are fairly rare -- How many other photographs from that day have surfaced?
Sadly as well all know, two people lost their lives that day and that in my opinion, is of no significance as to the importance of the photos.
In short, there's nothing totally earth shattering about them but they are rare and a cool insight into Guns N' Roses history and a good investment for someone -- I'll be sad to see them go but I've made my decision to sell off ALL my GNR stuff over the from over the years. When does a collection stop being a collection?
Anyway, thanks for looking and fingers crossed for some big news in the next couple of weeks within the GNR camp!!
PS - High to AF and any other ex/current mygnr crew.
Anyone who has any other questions, feel free to contact me via mygnr -- I'll try to get on htgth tomorrow. Jarmo?

thanks for the info subsy.......absolutely no need to defend yourself.
im just looking for a general feel amongst the GNR world to see if anyone else would bid this much for 3 pics.
i understand totally the history of donny 88', i was nearly there but missed out on my ticket. they are great pics and they do say that pictures tell a thousand words. I just find it hard to believe they are fetching this much!!
It is however reassuring to find out its a genuine fan thats selling these and not some "arthur daley" out to make a quick buck from genuine fans..

These photo's are some kinda collector items. In that case it doesn't matter how much they costs. I will even pay 250euro's or more for a pro shot dvd of the Donnington show (if 1 exists).
