It's not like they have any info, they're just putting it up for pre-order like they've done many other times.

i'm confused as to why they can also speculate on the price being at ?8.99 - this is not very expensive for a new album here (though obviously, there are countless companies that can and do beat HMV's prices).  How would they have a price?  If this turns out to have more songs or extra features than previoulsy thought - then it is a low price.

ach - HMV be damned!

?8.99 is the typical price of most new CD releases in the UK (amazon, cdwow etc) unless they come with a DVD when they are usually around ?10.99.

Any knucklehead that would pay for an album that isn't finished, has no official release date, and may not even have a record deal deserves to get jerked around. ok

On amazon and cdwow yes, but at HMV?  I thought most new releases at HMV would be priced around 11.99.  Good if its changed for the better though!

Do not bother pre ordering this until we know the album is definately coming out. HMV knows nothing more than we do, in fact they have proved on a few occasions they know less, that is the UK HMV site giving a release of 6/3/07 which is a tuesday as we know so the date on that site is wrong anyway.

I'm sure I heard something on Radio1 (UK) about HMV lowering their prices to compete with the online retailers a few months ago.

..back onto topic: they just read Axl's letter, anyway, its not going to sell out on the first day or anything so theres no point pre-ordering it

if you pre-order it won't you get it a couple of days or, if you're lucky, the day after it has been released.  buy it in the shop itself instead of waiting another day or 2 to listen to it.

Typically with these pre-mature Chinese Democracy pre-orders, all they get people is a cancelled order.

I'd wait until it's on store shelves.

If you have any further queries please visit our helpdesk http://www.play.com/helpdesk

Kind regards,

I know it's probably nothing official though, they are probably getting the info from the website or internet and not the record company.

?12.99, bit more expensive than HMV but Play.com say the price hasn't been set by the record label yet.

Meaning it's just another rumour.
