Today?s NY Post has an article listing the Top 100 Cover Song of All Time, and the list contains some classics, some bombs, and some unknown doozies. While I would argue that Guns N? Roses? ?Live and Let Die? should be waaay higher than #85, for the most part, the list is pretty dead on.

Videos of the top 10 can be seen here

Is that a joke?

1. "Stairway to Heaven," Dolly Parton (Led Zeppelin)

Queen of country rescues song from amateur guitar players everywhere with a soulful rendition that'll have you in tears.

2. "Baby Got Back," Jonathan Coulton

(Sir Mix-A-Lot)

MySpace white boy folk-rocks his way through an ode to big butts; great four-part harmony on "L.A. face with the Oakland booty."

I didn't know Love Hurts was a cover song...

21. "Walk," Avenged Sevenfold (Pantera)

A7X's updated, supercharged version of the song makes Pantera seem like the Carpenters.

61. "Sweet Child O' Mine," Luna (Guns N' Roses)

The indie rockers turn the hard-rocking anthem into a shimmering, ethereal dream.

So, is there any tread left on the tires? Or at this point would it be like throwing a hot dog down a hallway?
