I'm a llama!

Guys here`s my review of the show and some other amazing stuff that happened to me...

The crowd was insane. The whole crowd erupted and surged forward the moment Robin played the opening riff of Welcome to the Jungle. I went from being no where near the stage to being squashed right up against it in a matter of seconds. Everyone in my area went at it too hard because by Brownstone, we were all completely drained. Axl had to get a translator out to tell the crowd to take a few steps back. That quietened things down a little until YCBM when things were back to normal.? ?

The band were unbelivable. The sound they are able to produce live is quite amazing. They all seemed to be enjoying themselves.

The new songs were really well received. One interesting thing I noticed was that when Better started, there was quite a large cheer and some Japanese fans were actually singing the lyrics whereas they didn`t with the other new songs.

Axl singing Don`t Cry after so many years was truly an amazing moment and I feel so lucky to have witnessed it. I kind of had a gut feeling that something special was about to happen because it seemed like Axl didn`t want to leave the stage, he kept on saying thank you and the crowd just kept chanting for more.

Due to some unbelievably kind and generous individuals I was actually able to go backstage after the show. Everyone was so nice and friendly.? ok

There I was able to meet the likes of Vanessa (She`s a supercool chick with a down-to-earth personality and a heart of gold), Jarmo (The guy`s a legend!!! It was great to finally meet him as I`ve been coming here almost daily since 1996), Bumblefoot (Got a photo together and had a brief conversation with him about his Japanese mega-soled shoes he was wearing? hihi), Frank (I shook his hand and said thank you for a great show), Del James (Shook his hand and said hi), saw Tommy, Richard and Chris but didn`t get the chance to meet them as they were heading off to an after party in downtown Tokyo.

But, the highlight backstage was meeting Bubbles!!! Mike (The guy who plays Bubbles) just came up and started talking. I didn`t realise it was bubbles (as he wasnt wearing the glasses) until Jarmo told me. Anyway, I told him a few stories of how it`s easy to make mistakes in Japanese, for example, I once said to my Japanese wife I will wake her up (okosu - wake up) at 3:00 pm but I mistakenly said (okasu - which means to rape violently).? Lips Sealed Once Mike heard this, he started talking like Bubbles and acting out what Bubbles would do if he had made that mistake... It was a classic!!!? rofl

Met some really cool other people including Adam and Hiromi (who are board members here) and Satoshi (A 19 year old Japanese Cameraman - I hope you had fun at the afterparty, Satoshi)

All I can say is that I had the time of my life and I want to thank those people again who made that possible.

I cant wait for tonight`s show...

It's a highly emotional song for him.  I don't believe he's performed it since the death of Shannon Hoon, a very close friend of his who also did background vocals on the studio track and at a few concerts back in the day.
