Onetime Gun Steven Adler plus former L.A. Gun Tracii Guns will play a show on July 28 at Hollywood?s Key Club with their own bands, Adler?s Appetite and L.A. Guns, to ?pay tribute? to the 1987 release.

well he was in GNR in 1985..but paying tribute to an album by a band you used to be in that you didnt have anything to do with, that was made after you left is kinda funny hihi

and its kinda sad for Adler paying Tribute to a band he was in!!

I heard somewhere (don't know where, or if it's true) that Tracii wrote some of the songs/riffs that wound up on AFD. I would love to hear any demos he may have of his stint with GN'R, or Axl in LA Guns.

Songs like WTTJ and "No Mercy" are cut from the same cloth.

A remastered AFD w/bonus songs would be nice.

Misleading headline and a total non-story; another great example of what passes for news in the world of the music press these days.   Roll Eyes

what about these thoughts:

no promoted AFD-releases to come any soon this year but the small tour break right now is for practising all AFD songs perfectly to an extreme so it can be played complete for one and only time @

07.21.07 Osaka? Japan INTEX Osaka

to celebrate the 20years anniversary AFD release from 7.21.1987 ??

no source just pure speculation....but probably not too bad....could be the last time to get the heavily AFD setlist we are to enjoy since 01.01.01 before cd hits our homes? ?ok

That would be sweet. Hope those Japanese folk have got their video cams ready just in case.

I'm having a nice little AFD-party at my home next saturday ok
I'm having one too, GN'R blasting non stop out my stereo all night, and if anyone complains they know what they can do! Grin

As long as it is the same release everywhere. Thats one thing that pisses me of with the record companies, they release an album, six months later they release a bonus edition, then they tour and release a special tour edition, and you have some that release different versions in Europe/UK and America. I have seen some artists that have up to six versions of the one album, and the album is only a couple of years old? Roll Eyes

The only remaster or re-release of AFD so far has been the version Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs put out years ago. It sounded INCREDIBLE but it is well out of print now... Sad
Yep they are pretty sweet those MFSL discs, would be awesome if they redid it on SACD and while they are at it they could redo the Illusions aswell they would sound awesome in SACD.

Sony owns the rights to SACD so I'm sure Universal won't license GNR to the format. BUT there could be a different HD or higher grade format that a remaster could be done on.
