actually, the record company wanted to do something special for the A4D-aniversary. they thought about a special-release or the release of CD. at first CD was on track, but axl didn't get his shit together again, and then it was too late for an A4D-special edition/rerelease thing.

but hey, that ain't surprising?

Last show in Japan.

July 21st.

20 years since Appetite For Destruction was released.

I don't see any special release coming from the record company.

Do you think there's any chance of getting anything?

P.S.: Don't start shit with negative comments.

Hell, why not Christos!! I always like to look on the positive side! Looks like a great date to announce something!!

regarding the setlists they are somehow doing the AFD-anniversary tour for some years allready so it wouldnt be a big change adding "crazy" and "anything goes" (when also playing "think about you" and "rocket queen" the same night) to play the whole album. some sad they couldnt release cd last year cause now -without cd but with a cd release date this year probably- it doesnt make much sense promoting the old line up allover with special releases like AFD DVD-Audio, demos, unreleased tracks from AFD era and/or maybe even some old band video release. it could have worked with cd release last year though i think. but hey, sometimes they still can surprise the fans with specials, special acoustic gigs again so there is always some hope.
question: wasnt there some interview/information ~2 years ago old stuff was giving to some professionals for high quality digital transfers?

If that's not an Axl bash, I don't know what is.  If you're gonna CLAIM something like that, demeaning the man's integrity.  You better be prepared to provide a source and some serious proof.  Slash himself said Axl probably wanted to do something for the anniversary but the RECORD COMPANY screwed it up.  Stop spewing lies and rumors if you can't back it up.

I'm surprised a record company that wanted to release Greatest Hits and get some $$ isn't going to do something to celebrate the 20 year anniversary.

I would expect the 25 year anniversy to be big.? Plus, that will be their first year eligible for the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame.

and by then we may have the new album out, perfect timing

Dude, not to be rude but your post seems kind of those ones in which the info comes from someone who knows someone who knows someone who knows someone who cleans the toilet of the chairman of the record company Tongue . We?ve had a lot of this bullshit for a long time so you shouldn?t be surprised that people ask for sources and that they don?t believe you Wink

I don't see it possible to get anything. And if we get it, I don't think it'll be well promoted.

Acording to what I see, the band's aim today is not to look at the past and head straight to the release of the record, so maybe something happens, but not very big.

It's a shame, but it is like it is  Embarrassed
