yeah i knew that but i guess i was just wondering when the last time they did a 2nd encore was....

Dayum!!!!

anyone know when the last time they Ever did a song AFTER Paradise City???

 beer beer beer

Only know from the 88'Ritz show;? ending song was Rocket Queen.

Uh - they didn't use "Paradise City" as their closer until late 1991. Before then it wasn't always "Paradise City" as the last song.

the last time i can remember was toronto canada 91, they did pcity and then came back and ended with jungle.
Yes that?s right. I just checked it out.

Ah, you are correct. I forgot about the shows where Axl ended the show early.

06.08.91 - CNE Grandstand, Toronto, Canada

opening act: Skid Row

set: Perfect Crime, Mr. Brownstone, Live And Let Die, Dust N' Bones, Bad Obsession, Double Talkin' Jive, Civil War, I Was Only Joking [Intro] / Patience, My Michelle, Don't Cry, 14 Years, November Rain, Drum Solo, Guitar Solo, Godfather Theme, Rocket Queen, Pretty Tied Up, You're Crazy [w/ Sebastian Bach], Only Women Bleed [Intro] / Knockin' On Heaven's Door, Bad Time [Intro] / Sweet Child O' Mine, Estranged, You Ain't The First, Used To Love Her, Yesterdays, Paradise City, Welcome To The Jungle

notes:

Axl says how tonight's crowd is much better than last night's (6.7). Axl mentions that 4 years ago he wanted the band to play 'Knockin' On Heaven's Door' because he wanted his generation to hear it. A rare performance of 'Welcome To The Jungle' as the last song. The tour was still early at this point and GN'R was still experimenting with their set. At some point during the show, a fan jumps on stage and charges toward Axl. Security holds down the fan and Axl stomps on him twice before he is dragged off.

I was at this show and it smoked. Best GNR I have seen (I haven't been able to see them in 2006-07 confused YET)

They never always got to Paradise City though.

The old band had more then a few shows that didn't make it that far either.... lol.

Unless someone says otherwise though, I think this is the first full show ever where another song was played after PC.

I'm Ron Burgundy?

WWW
« Reply #111 on: July 14, 2007, 05:45:37 PM »

So they played "Don't Cry"?  Big deal!  Ron's been playing that song for almost a year now.  I'd be more excited if they played a song we haven't heard before like "Don't Cry (alt. lyrics)".

Just kidding of course.  Maybe something a hater would say, and lord knows there are plenty on this site.  This is awesome.  I had to work today all hungover, which sucked.  But I found out about this during my lunch break, and suddenly my hangover went away, the sun shined a little more brightly, the day just got a whole lot better.  Now that's what I'm talking about!

I wouldn't be surprised if they added new songs to the setlist. Be spontaneous Axl. C'mon.
