Why would there be any security for him  Huh It is not as if there are hundreds of fans waiting for him,  now he can walk freely and sip his drink like any other person would do when travelling.

Depends on what you mean by "walk in public".....as in walking as Bill Baily or as Axl Rose ??

If he goes for a coffee in the morning, get his newspaper in the nearby shop, no he doens't use security for that (no need for it)

Going to a gig he has, travelling from the hotel to the theatre he plays at en going back again, when he is surrounded by people who see him as Axl Rose the frontman of GNR, yes he uses security for that ( there could be a need for it)

But here in this specific case where he is walking freely and sipping his drink, it's not because security guards are keeping all the fans and media away for meters and meters for him to walk like that.
