yeah when gnr are over so you can tell your kids and grankids about when music was good i don't see the the reasoning behind saying don't get this or that done, sure if its a band of the now like trivium but most memories from gnr are from over 15 years ago so it is a tribute to soemthing that was not somthing of the now that you may not like in say 10 years time, its already tood the test of time.

Anyway mines on my back, if i ever don't like it anymore (not that i think i will) i just won't look at my back in the mirror

as long as the tattoo has special meaning to you, you'll be fine. 

Don't just pick something, choose something with arguments.....think about it for two weeks...And review if you still want it. You should see it as art, as it is. Choosing something with symbology behind it, like Parisrocks said is the smartest way to do it.

In the CBGBs interview, Axl said when he wants to get a tattoo, he thinks about it for a year. Maybe that's what you need to do (of course you don't have a year if you really want to have it in time for the GN'R shows..maybe a temporary one? ? )

That's funny, I never saw that interview, but that has always been my rule for tattoos.  I have 2 so far & I'm still happy with both - 6 years & 3 years later.  Also, as far as the round GNR logo, I decided at about 9 that I wanted that as my first tattoo, but when I got older, I thought it might be a little too much lol.  I'm reconsidering it now for my ankle, without the blood spatter background.

I got a GN'R Tattoo when I was 15 as my first and only tatoo. Eventually I had to have it removed by laser (I felt stupid every time I took my shirt off), I was scarred and had to have re-tattooed to cover the scare with a "well thought out tattoo" that I still love as an adult. The whole process cost me over $2,000.00

How about the chinese sign that was used on the 2002 tour stage floor? That would make a cool tattoo......on the inside of your arm... or your back... It was the Chinese symbol for 'Wild' if I remember correctly

I couldn't agree more, I mean a tat is a symbol of YOU, so have a tat of something for you, done by you even. Such as use a GNR symbol and recreate it into something more personal to you

My tat is personal to me as I am actually bald and I wear a green bandana all the time. Also I even have a scar on the top of my head from a tree falling on my head. Plus I redrew it myself, as I believe a tat should be your own, and drawing it yourself and having it personal to yourself should make it so nobody else will have the same tat as you, cuz having the same tat as someone else is about as cool as herpes...

So pretty much what I am saying is get something that is personal to you as a tat, you will enjoy it a lot more
