So how many copies do you think libertad will sell first week

If Velvet Revolver could sell 250,000 copies of Contraband in its first week, and considering the lack of new Hard Rock albums out there in the market, there's no reason it cannot exceed the sales and hit 300,000.
Overall, I predict the album to go double platinum, particularly if the other songs (that I have not heard yet) are better than the first single (which I have heard and really like).

iTunes sales count as do any legal download sites u have to pay for. The reason record companies may go downhill is becase artists can do it all themselves now from promotion to sales, even recording is easily accesible where as it wasnt b4.

I think the album needs a lot more promotion from what Ive seen in the uk but it will still do well

I didn't say pay sites.  I said downloads as in illegal, free ones.  That has hurt the industry tremendously.

Until I visited  this section..I forgot it was out today.. I don't see it selling in excess of 200,000 units.. I'd say somewhere between 150-175,000

you have to remember there are slash addicts out there that will buy this album so that is good for abouth 35,000-45,000 then there are duff addicts that is good for 25,-30,000 thn there are weiland addicts that is ggod for another 35,000-45,000 then there are still curious people who loved stp and gnr that didn't like the first cd but are willing to give this album a second chance so there are another 25,-35,000 then there are general vr fans that's good for another 35,-45,000 tihis makes for 155,000-195,000 definite sales and some added word of mouth that is why I predicted 195,-225,000 sales but with lack of rock release possibe 300,000-350,00

Funny that you would say that.  I heard the new Linkin Park single on the radio yesterday.  I then punched my car stereo, after which it told me we couldn't be friends anymore.  But it was SOO worth it!

I want to say 200,000-300,000. Although after Year Zero, things may really have changed that much in that amount of time, so more conservatively 150,000-250,000, I guess. Even though I think a band like Linkin Park pulled off a rare debut week in these times with Minutes to Midnight (which was still below Meteora), they're Linkin Park, and the marketing muscle behind them is quite mighty. The marketing behind VR on this go 'round is almost non-existent. That's what crippled Manson's sales last month. Nobody's getting their shit played and out there anymore. VR should have been on the cover of everything from Spin to Rolling Stone, with a video in heavy rotation and arguably a much catchier single. So...that was rather long-winded...150,000-250,000 in the USA. Final answer.
